Well, after roughly a year and a half of third shift they are pulling the plug. The shop has recently slowed and they are fighting with a couple of non paying customers so, they are laying off a few guys and keeping a few. I'll be going to first shift next week. Kind of last minute which I'm not happy about but, I still have a job at least. August will be seven years in.

A sudden life change.. Gonna have to adapt back to normal society I guess.

I just drove the Toyota by it after riding the fatbike down at Foster beach... I went through the ally and there was an old black guy waxing his mark IV Supra! I stopped and said Nice Toyota! (it was mint!)
He said You too.
And we started talking about the house and neighborhood.
It's a beautiful little hood, super clean and manicured.
He asked if I like ribs and I said Yes Sir, I happen to have a steak and some chops right here in this bag.
He said we have a lot in common and I should move in.

me and the girl spent the past 2 days just driving around sw michigan and goofing off. i saw soooooo many fbodys in yards, some nice, some not, but good golly its nice to see that. ;)

i ignorantly assumed most of michigan was ugly, its not. vineyards all over, big open spaces all green with really thick forests and rivers, TURTLES all over... gonna have to figure out a way to make money but with the house bought and an easy life i dont think its gonna be that hard. super happy i am debt free and stocked up on toys and projects.

Ohh yeah man, most of Michigan is beautiful!

IDK know about the house... I love these little houses and the thought of having privacy to do what I want with the yard, garage and basement.
But they are so little and I worry about resale/renting it out if I want to move.

I could get a kick ass giant condo or a really slick loft in a great neighborhood and probably sell it for more in a couple years or rent it out (if HOA allows that) but then no crawler course.

I'm also seriously considering San Francisco Bay area (I love Santa Cruz!).
Shawck is hiring 3D artist and seems not many out there are doing print... I run the 3D department for one of their biggest competitor (with some spin on it, I run Publicis North American CGI offering).
Seems like a natural fit.
The have openings in S.F. and Cupertino (S Bay area, south of San Jose)...

Right now houses are going for over asking price near Grand Rapids. Which is where I live and they are putting a lot of money into downtown. Don't think I'll ever move. Plus it's beer city u.s.a.

A group of us are going to rock cut forest preserve today. Great mountain bike trails you don't want to make the drive just for Rc trucks

just picked up my first quadcopter. Chinese brand, $30, 1.5" sq... it's a lil' guy.

If it's those micro size ones that charge off usb, I had one. Sucker flew great too. I could fly it outside in a breeze easy when I got real used to it.
