Maybe I can bring her out the next time you have a garage day Gary... as I no longer have a place to work on them.

Damn, just heard from Attitude Performance in Arlington Heights... They want about $1000 to install my lift, weld on the sliders and do an alignment and can't get me in till July 20th. Sounds like an off road shop is the business to be in! |

are your sliders bolt on design? if so maybe ask if he can just 'kinda' weld them on. i really wish the guy who put the tubework on my truck only kinda welded it all on.

What kind of lift did you get? For that truck, I'd think it'd be an IFS bracket lift of some sort which means the whole front of the trucks suspension, control arms, front diff have to come out which would be a nightmare. Then leaf springs out back or blocks? The newer 4runners are fairly easy.. Its just a shock swap and stuff a new rear spring in the hole. |

10 hours isn't bad but I don't think it'll be that tough for an experienced shop... it's just front & rear shocks, front torsion bars, rear springs, bushings and a steering dampener. The sliders are a bolt on design but I have serious reservations about drilling holes through my clean 27 year old chassis while living in the rust belt. |

| Re: NIRC. Chit Chat Buy it from me! Like I said, my craigslist listing is way to high. I am trying to find a sucker. I'd let it go for $4k.

id bolt those on and if you cant sleep at night have a muffler shop or one of us burn them in for ya. i dont follow the rust belt concern. the only way you are going to keep that relatively clean is to just not have it be exposed to salt and road chemicals. a couple extra holes through your framerails arent going to rust any quicker than all the existing holes that are already there. if you really feel better with welded sliders, is have them bolt them in and then tack them with a couple small welds that can be removed with a grinder in case you ever want to take them sliders off. i totally know what im talking about. im the guy who has what could be a rad looking truck if the p.o. hadnt welded all the damn tubework to the frame. ;)

Worried about raw metal (from drilling) and salt, worried about wallowing over time (which tack welding should take care of).

I totally want a Grom! They're awesome! Little hooligan bikes, wheelie machines! My neighbor and I would have so much fun with one of those. It would be great in the city. Much cooler than a scooter and a really large amount of aftermarket support.

An adult man looks a little cooler on a Grom in this photo. You did pick the nerdiest photo ever, Rick. LOL. |
