I don't think this is very realistic. Who'd be stupid enough to try and enforce something like that?

He's from texas.. Who is stupid enough to go door to door and attempt to take people guns? Thats a crazy mufukka. You know there will be blood shed. Who wants to put themselves and put others in that situation. There are a lot of freaky gun owners out there that wouldn't hesitate to put holes in someone trying to rob them of their second amendment rights. Do they really want that to happen? | Re: Illinois Gun Grab! as passive agressive and money hungry as this city is, all they would do is pass a law that makes you a criminal for owning a gun, then send gun owners a fine in the mail every month until they turn their guns in at the local police station.

| Re: Illinois Gun Grab! The people making the decisions won’t be going door to door. They set behind a desk practicing their political agenda with security staff to protect them and body guards to transport them if the need arises. If something of this nature were to be voted in the state police will be forced to do it as their job weather they believe in it or not. |

Ask the people in and around New Orleans if door to door gun collection is possible... They'll shoot for the moon and probably settle for all semi-auto ban.

Very unlikely that at bill like that would get passed. They have been trying to do it for years. Thank god I live in Indiana and moving to Wisconsin... Still gotta drive through that suckhole every once in a while though...

The Public Health Committee has voted 6 yeas to 4 nos on HB1263 which bans semiautomatic firearms. Included in this ban are hands guns, rifles & shotguns This Bill will go for vote January 3, 2013 in the IL State Senate. You are urged to call your Senator all day tomorrow, early and often. Tell them your are opposed to this Bill. Pass this on to your progun friends. |

The ban would just unarm the good people, the people with registered firearms & firearms licenses.. The bad guys are still going to have guns and do bad things and then we won't be able to protect ourselves. Yeah, theres no way this is going down.

Among other things, House Bill 815 would: - Prohibit anyone without a FOID card from using a commercial shooting range, which in many cases would make it impossible to introduce new shooters to the safe and responsible use of firearms. - Grant the State Police broad discretion to impose design, construction and operation standards that could shut down most commercial shooting ranges. - Ban possession of magazines and other feeding devices that hold more than ten rounds of ammunition. A "grandfather clause" would require registration by owners of such devices and give the State Police discretion to impose and charge fees. Registration would require "proof of ownership" that could be impossible for most people to provide, and even registered owners could not transfer magazines within Illinois, except to an heir or a licensed dealer. Transfers of "grandfathered magazines" would have to be reported to the ISP. - Violations of this magazine ban would be a felony. Failure to report theft or loss of a magazine would be a misdemeanor until the third violation, which would be a felony. House Bill 1263 would: - Ban, at a minimum, all detachable-magazine semi-automatic rifles and pistols. Remington 7400 deer rifles, Ruger 10/22 squirrel guns, Glocks, 1911s, etc. This ban would include about 80% of handguns now sold in the U.S. - Possibly ban all semi-automatic rifles and even revolvers or single-shot pistols with the capacity to accept muzzle brakes or compensators. - Ban "assault weapon attachments," so possession of a thumbhole stock, a pistol grip,or a fore-end (a "shroud" that "partially or completely encircles the barrel") would be a crime even if you didn't possess a firearm. - Ban all .50 BMG rifles. - Contains "grandfather" provisions that would require registration by owners of devices and give the State Police discretion to impose and charge fees. Registration would require "proof of ownership." - Create felony penalties for violation of this ban on guns or attachments. - Create lost and Stolen penalties that would criminalize victims of gun theft.
