A comp for these would be great to see, I might even have to attend that one although I know mine does not do to well as it sits, way too top heavy but pretty scalish crawling as far as what it can go over for stock 32" tires. | |

Darin, what's your take on the durability of those limiting straps? I love the look of them, I just wonder if they would hold together over the long run? I'm not knocking/sh*t talking about Norm's product it's just hard to judge them by simply looking at pics. I'm definitely interested in them to keep my leaf springs from over extending. Ask ZoSo about the cool utility trailer he just got for his Willys.... What's this talk about a /6th scale class at NATS, as in Montana scale nats?? Last edited by BigSki; 12-20-2011 at 07:59 PM. |

I think the straps will work great, you would need to sow them if you want them to actually function, I have mine just glued and are using more for looks. The "strap" material is very strong and would hold a rigs suspension with no problem at all. The mounting tabs are stout as well and give many options for mounting locations. I'll have to ask ZoSo about that trailer, sounds pretty cool. More stuff for these on the market the better, ZoSo mentioned that above, I think it would be a cool thing, even if it was just a fun get together for those that have them and the next Scale Nats.....would love to make it. |

Hell yeah! ZoSo has about 2 dozen of these things in his club plus the great builds on here plus the ones on scale4x4... I'd bet that Benders head would explode when he sees all of them! |

Well after doing the brake work, I could not stand the servo on the axle. Spent the weekend getting that resolved. Before After Here are some more shots. I used TLT link mounts for these. At ride height Full Compression I get just a very tiny amount of bump steer at full compression. Need to take it out and see how it performs now. I also picked up a set of rings from MThead over on RCC. I highly recommend him and his work, great prices and selection. Almost forgot. Pick of the snorkel too. Well thats all for now. Thanks again for looking. |

That should work Mine has a slight little bit of input, but at the other end of the spectrum. You have to pick it up and let the suspension droop out all the way to see it. When you drive it it's not noticable. You shouldn't be bothered by a little bump at the end of the travel either. Plus, it looks so much better than with the servo on the axle! That's worth a little tick of bump-steer IMO. The "steering damper" is an excellent touch! I might have to swipe that one... Last edited by Big Mike; 01-05-2012 at 07:38 AM. |

Thanks Mike. I got the panhard and drag as close as I could while keeping it all inside the frame rails. From the top they are dead on, from the front the angles are a touch off. Pretty sure that is why I have a bit yet, not concerned with it though. The steering damper is real easy. I used styrene tube over the one end and the boot on the other. Simple as can be. |

Looks good, Darin!! My only concern would be how you have the chassis end of the track bar mounted to the frame. Is that pretty secure? It's hard to tell, but I think you may only have one screw holding it in place. If so, it could strain that screw and/or the plastic....particularly in a rollover and the axle takes a decent side hit. Otherwise, it looks great!! |

Thanks Tommy, in the pic there is one, now 2, just did not have it drilled and tapped at the time. the end on the axle also has 2 screws with nuts so should hold up pretty well.

Another mod/upgrade that turned out well! I like how everyone w/ one of these jeeps just openly shares ideas with everyone else. |
