Well.... Being a 1:1 Jeep guy I know better then saying I am done with something. As a matter of fact, after I posted my last I found this.. I could not figure out why the front spindle was not turning the front tires at the same rate under load. "Well, there's your problem". The Axial universal axle shafts were the only thing available when I first built the VP Wraith axles up. Finally picked up a 4.98 mm bit to drill my front wheels and hex's. The next problem is my socket will not fit over the nut and between the machined wheel where the nut tightens down. Always something, right? But here are those pretty VP 5mm Wraith axle shafts. Again, hoping she will hold together now. lol |

The only improvements I have to praise are inner/outer tuning disc on each wheel which has been a great in keeping the tires from compressing to much and allowing the big ole Willys to be even more capable. The problem is Mrs. Gunny has busted her seat, not sure if it's the extra silicone bouncing or what. But the seat back is not gluing back on. Keeping in mind this is a Dragon version, any input for me on seats or building seats to fit a 12" motivational figure and his trophy wife? |

Well.... What a trip it has been. I started this by assembling the body while living in Southern California. It and everything else made its way to New York where the build happened. Not long after finishing the build I made the trip across country to visit home for a week before moving to Nevada. After 18 years I have come full circle and made it back home to Washington state. That was 5 years ago and many challenges later... I have pulled the rc's off the shelf again now that a house project is nearing an end, allowing me to play a little. I had forgotten how much work was invested in the Willy's, until I revisited this. The joy of wheeling it is still there. Time to get back into reading what everyone has been building since I fell off the forum.

I just read through your adventures with this little guy. Wow...way to go with all the trouble shooting. I know your pain with the drilling and tapping woes, into the aluminum frame. I did the same thing on my CJ6, which is still in progress. This has to be the first Willys build that set the standard for everyone after this, to follow. Outstanding work throughout your entire build. |

CJ6 build! I’m going to have to go find that thread. Wow, I really appreciate the compliment. It was challenging and fun. |
