yeah. as soon as i typed that message i remembered your orange one.

i kinda like the idea of a gun metal color as well. I might as well paint it now before i take it out and get it all dirty and have to clean it before paint. i'll head to autozone after work and get some paint.

another reason a gunmetal or similar color is nice if that it looks kinda like a primer so if i dont like it i can always start over again.

i like it too, but after i patch the wholes with white styrene its really gonna need some paint. otherwise it will always look half done. i couldnt handle that on a such a scale looking truck.

yup, i got a little work to do on the hood and around the transfer case. also i want to get rid of those rear seat mounts. this one didnt come with a rear seat and the way i designed the cage kinda prevents people from sitting in the back. so gonna make it a flat bottom.

making some body prep work for the paint tonight. gonna start using the putty tomorrow. just waiting for the goop to dry now. 24hrs... ugh.

took the rear seat post/platform things off, inserted some styrene. filled in the holes in the hood. and got the center channel redone for the transfer case. its ugly now, but ill get some more work done on it.

got the paint tonight. Duplicolor Gunmetal metallic for GM motor cars. and also got some adhesion promoter. that should work really well.

hopefully it turns out like this..

paint went on last night. got the last coat of clear done around 11PM. should have some mock up pics tonight. gonna see if i cant get a nice shiney wax on this thing too. the clear coat doesnt quite pop like i wanted it to, but it says i can take a light polishing compound to it.

and there will be light. paint came out pretty good. not as sparkly and shiny as i thought, but i think its becaus the humidity was over 90% last night, and the paint wants 80% or lower.

ok, so pics inside dont really cut it, but the thing looks sharp in some light. ill try to get some pics on the trail in the coming weeks. all done cept for some scale stuff.

you can see the hood 'latch" 3 rare earth magnets. they work great. won't be popping open at all.

interior instrument panel looks great in this color.

and the tiny slotted bolts look pretty good for the hood hinge as well.\

before and after

could have done better here, but its gonna be full of stuff in the back so i didnt really mind the unfinished look here.

Awesome build and it looks very capable. I just picked up parts to start a willys build of my own. Looks like you were getting rough on her at the end of your video lol.
