@Fumbles,

Is the weather getting any better up your way?

Just got a little bit of a thaw going on... supposed to snow a bit tomorrow so it feels like two steps forward and one step back. Believe me, I'm ready to get Sarge on his way... I've got another build in mind now!

Well, it's been a long winter so I decided to do a bit more work on the front bumper. I added a spur to the tow rope stub, didn't like how the rope would slide off if not under tension.

Got a bit of cabin fever and made some crowbars...

Ok - so I made A LOT of them! Still need to shape these on the grinder.

Coming to your local crawler board this May.

Deep behind enemy lines one man is fighting to get back home. He'll have to make a break for it before it's too late...

This has been a great build, the story line sure does make it one a guy has to keep revisiting. Hurry up May!

Part 1 of "Behind Enemy Lines". I'll finish filming/editing Part 2 when I get more time at the end of the month...

Dude, you got a tank? Lucky!

This is probably the best scale video I've seen, ever

Good job on the build and the filming

Yeah - snagged the tank off the RCC for sale section !

Thanks Ikaika! It's been a fun build so I figured it required a great video to finish it off.

Damn fine work, man.

When the boy from Disturbed kicks the scream, and the front end lifts up, I had a smile all over my face.

Attaboy!

You know - it surprised me when the front end came up on the first launch. I had no idea that it had THAT much torque to pick it up like that. The rig is 16 lbs. & probably more with it loaded up with everything. I thought - this would look even cooler in slow-mo... (which I had just discovered that this simple camera could do, it's a Canon SX280HS). I still haven't pinned the throttle fully yet on a launch - I'll have to try that once filming is over and breaking it wouldn't hinder Part 2 - I reckon it might stand up on the rear bumper. One thing for sure is that I'll film it when I try that too!

It's some off brand/no name 1/35th scale Panzer IV that I picked up off the RCC board in the middle of winter or thereabouts. It's missing some pieces & doors but does a fine job for what I was wanting it to do. I figured the movie needed some bad guys in a tank and this one was inexpensive so I rolled the dice and snagged it. Did a quick weathering job on it with some rust colored paint, then some silver on the edges and whacked at it with an old soldering iron for battle damage all in about 10 minutes. It's RC controlled but the gear ratio makes it shoot off like a rabbit and was WAY too fast for filming so in the scenes you are seeing I'm pushing or pulling it along as it grinds through the gears & spins against the motors.
Found a small scale German figure at a local hobby shop that has boxfulls of them and painted it up black and made a tank commanders hat and headphones for him out of styrene.
The close ups of the tank commander is a 1/6 scale figure - I've tried to use distance and perspective from it being too obvious as to the tank & commanders size disparity...
