Use the stock screw for holding down the cowling.
You can hold down the hood with magnets or a little Velcro.
The battery will fit perfect against the firewall...a piece of aluminum angle bolted to the bottom of the chassis.
Can't wait to see what you come up with.
Thanks man.

The original screw post for the cowling has been removed, I will have to come up with something else.

It's nice to see you have come out of the closet to buy all these scalers.

that's a bummer man. you can put a plate behind the cowl and tub where the meet on the side and glue them together. then use some bondo, and fill in the crease. should make it look really good

Really nice work, man. I love what you did integrating the windshield into the cage.

The type of Willys you used has no screws under the cowl. The Hasbro ones do, but not this one.

I used the same type on this build. 1:6th scale Willys - yeah, yeah...another one.

I glued hell out of the cowl once the hood piece was cut away and it's stayed in place just fine.

Thanks but I cannot take credit for the original build, I buy and mod.

Mine had the cowl screw post I can see where it was removed.

Since moving to VA hammer really misses cruisin in Tommy's Jeep.
He is working fast to get this Willys ready. Cut the hood from the cowl.

How did he cut the hood free with a pizza cutter anyway?? nice clean cut.

Thanks!

I have a feeling hammer has had lots of practice with pizza cutters over the years.

I sawer this rig back at Nats or ECC a few years ago. Rebuild is looking good. I am liking the bigger scaled rig builds these days.

Yeah it was at nats last year at lrc. I am having fun with this rig, only making a few performance tweaks not messing with it much cosmetically. I think the larger size makes them more fun.
