^ truth and thanks for your direction

I'd get a dog...
but because my yard is nothing more then a patio...
The poor thing would be living in a prison cell, like me.

But if I got a dog...
it would need be trained to poop in the toilet and flush that too

^ because picking up dog poop is not my idea of fun or entertainment

I would hope to train it... so it could wipe it's butt as well...
but I realize having paws is useless for that attempt !?

Yer in love with a girl... (you say)
but she's living under lock n key... right ?
so how do you know what's for real ?

pictures of boobies proves nothing

Tho' I will wish you good luck in your future endeavor
and hope that works out for you

Sorry you lost your father...
But be thankful you had the opportunity to know him.
I lost mine when I was just 19 yrs old and was in the service at the time.
Never had the chance to know the man... besides being a father.
Sadly, it's an inevitable thing... less we go first.

My Mother still lives...
but she is in bad shape and residing in an assisted living home.
Was her call...
But sadly... there weren't many other options available for her choosing.
I'm too poor to help her... and she's half outta her mind.
Her circumstance (current health status) is purdy dire.

I believe she's currently on a health decline...
but there's nothing that I or anyone can do about that

^ I do call her on occasion... send flowers...
but it's depressing when you can do nothing else...
because she lives in another state too far from me.

Sad as that may be... it is the reality of life/death.

If I might hit-win the lottery...
Would be the only way I could get outta my mess and help others.
But my guess is...
I'll be struck by lightening or become shark bait before I find my way with luck

Temporarily reassembled

plus some new additions...

...servo extension
...servo (D772)
...integy coil spring set
...87T spur, 16T pinion

still intend on utilizing an CCbec set @ 7.4v *
but have not installed that as of yet.

* the D772 seems to operate without glitching
at this point.
But I intend to feed it with 7.4v to net max voltage/torque.

IMO the original servo mount shifts terribly during load...
And I see that movement occurring at the blocks.
And so I will need upgrade those next.

Anyone recommend a good choice ? ( alloy )
I'm thinking the mount blocks need two holes
going thru the lower mounting plate, not just one.

Nice, clean, and neat chassis, doesn't look like a mess of spaghetti ^

thanks for sayin'

I like the simplicity of this chassis

but I intend to create more order with wiring
before it's finalized.

I dislike floppy spaghetti noodle wiring.

wth is it ?! \

details on it later...
but it pertains to the forward body mounting method I'm attempting
and this will need be welded to the nose of the frame

stay tuned... and wonder !?

Either a snap clip to hold down the front for quick battery changes, or a hinge for a front flip body?

Two tubes welded to the frame so the bars slide in. Don;t see how it can tilt forward but Taco's mind is something we are still learning about.

^ Lol

tab "A" slides into/under the square opening
Then the front inner grill snap locks around the vertical rod(s)
more detail on that later.

Sooo...
Lift up the rear of the body...
slide that forward and off.
Reverse this method to put it back on. der

~ just entertaining a thought in muh head to see if it might work ~

Here's the body mount system and mostly completed frame *

* still intend to fab up some bumpers and sliders eventually

Simple tabs at the rear will utilize velcro... for now.

because the chassis is made of steel...
I may choose to remove /or add additions as I see fit.

they're never really done ya know

the forward quick release hoop
is eventually going to have vertical supports
welded on and tied to the frame.

tho' I may change the upper hoop design...
but this will work for now.

The front Tab/hoop locks the body in purdy good...
even without the rear velcro tabs securing as of yet.
But once the velcro is employed, should be solid.

Drove it around with the front snapped in...
but without the velcro adhered.

Body stayed put

Looks real good.

Now it just needs some rock sliders and maybe a little less oil or spring in the back.

Looks good, runs good, missing something yet for that scale appearance....maybe inner front fenders, or paint the underbody black.

yeah maybe less spring rate and a lighter wt oil...
but first... gonna make the bumpers/sliders.

The rear is gonna be a stout 1/4" X 1/2"
cut down (triangulated) at the outer ends of the bumper.
I could have used rectangular tube...
But I think I'll appreciate the additional weight.

The added weight will affect how the rear end rides
so I'll have to check that before altering
the suspension further.

Not sure what I'll do with the front...
but probably hafta' keep it simple
if I intend to retain the front body mount
and slide rearward mounting.

^ or maybe I'll redesign the mounting hoop slightly
so that the support requires less space.

meh... it is, what it is, for now.
I just wanted to get the body secured...
and drive it

And I like it so far...
tho' I'm really curious as to what a 6s would be like !?

inner fender, spare, fuel cans, dog...

but at least now I can take it out and roll it at our club's g2g's

^ thanks to the both of you regarding your praise/commentary

The 6th scale TJ did real well at our local g2g.
More then a few Wraiths were in attendance...
but none like mine

A few more participants wandered in... after we got going.
And some had left early due to fault or breakage.
But we had more then 10 rigs crawling when we started.

I didn't break a thing on either of my rigs... ( 1/6th Wraith -1/10th Honcho )
My son and I took turns driving either the TJ or the Honcho.
----------------
edit: well that wasn't right... I broke the TJ chassis in two different locations
was an easy weld up fix and is all better and stronger then before.

Was a hard 20' tumble down a 1:2 rock, so could be expected.
I know someone filmed my error...
just waiting for them to post that somewhere.
---------------

unfortunately I didn't take many pictures/video of either

I
did however push my luck more then a few times
and tumbled down a few rocks in error.
Once even causing the body to separate from the chassis
The TJ body did sustain some fresh new scratches to it.
but oh well... guess I'll have to paint it... eventually.

I'll attempt better pics/video at our next g2g...
seeings that we have scheduled that for the 14th of Nov.
And that's next Saturday

So... hopefully the next update brings more entertainment

a raw video clip...

some more poser pics* ...and
a video of some rock work

* umm... pictars before I gouge it to chit

Notice in these following pictures...
I fab'd up a rear bumper...
nothing special... but plenty stout - works good.

Gonna fab up a spare tire mount and fit my dual MFC's as well.
^ hopefully supported by this rear bumper.

and...

https://youtu.be/p4oS2sw9lKI

besides just plopping a Nylint TJ body atop the Wraith drive/suspension
I did in fact upgrade the drive line/suspension/performance a little.

mechanical...
...Axial steel gears inside the transmission
...Axial universal's up front
...Tmike's custom titanium 1/4" susp. links
...Tmike's 3/16" titanium steering link rods
...Traxxas Revo steel ball ends
...Axial 12mm axle clamping/pinned alloy hexes
...Axial Trail Ready IDF HD beadlock wheels (used)
...Axial plastic hex mount/slw style hubs
...Axial BFG tires (used, likely rtr grade)
...87T spur - 16T pinion (trans)
...Axial cheapo 55T motor
...HD WB8 drive shaft assemblies. (aka Deadbolt)
...Integy stiffer rated coil springs (for now)
...Wraith stock shocks w 3hole piston/30wt

stock otherwise

electrical...
...FlySky GT3-C TX/RX
...HH WP BR/XL esc on 3s 4400mah
...Castle 10a bec @ 7.4v
...Solar D772 servo

sliders next...
and if I can bend 'dem right...
wrap around body armor (3/16" rod)
not an exo... just at the side panels/wheel wells for less plastic grind.

Looks great man! Nice job.

Where did you get the sam's offroad sticker? I know those guys. Me and my dad use to wheel our 1:1 jeeps with all those guys.
I heard Sam is no longer the owner. He sold the whole lot including his hee pee jeep.

...thanks for saying

all of the decals on this body
are original and applied by the body's mfgr (Nylint/Funrise)

Eventually they are all getting peeled off and tossed out in favor of some fresh paint.
It's likely they will become thrashed by rock grinding
before their removal. Lol

I believe Sam's was an east coast thing...
and I honestly don't know squat about them - him.
Never made purchase thru them for my 1:1 rig.

edit: would also suspect Sam is old skool '60 - 70's...
and would be older then dirt by now... or possibly even nestled under it ?!

I heard the name back in the early days... just never did business.
preferred muh Toyota's over Jeeps... so that's likely why.

Sam's offroad is still one of the top 4x4 shops in the country. And still up and running in tulsa oklahoma. They work on anything 4x4 from a stock yota on 33's to a supercharged hemi powered jk on 54's. Sorry to thread jack, but couldn't let a good shop get undersold. Just thought you might be a local 1:1 crawler too.
