Looks great man! How did you cut the leaf though, and what kind of aluminum sheet things did you use? Gotta love the dually's though! Definitely original

The springs are made from an old nitro pullstarter. I didn't cut them, rather snapped them by bending at a sharp angle with plires. Then with a small hi-temp toruch worked in the eyelets. There is no aluminum on this rig. (save tranny plate) It is all styrine. Now that may not sound strong, but it is a small rig and holds just fine. thanks for looking everyone.:-P

got more done after work today. i made the shackles and the doodad that makes the springs hevey duty. also got the shocks mounted and got things painted. i put little shims on the axle so the very wide duallies will clear the springs. that all for now.

Thanks for the heads up! Looks great I may have to try the leafspring idea, how's it compare to shocks as far as flex and performance go?

well... this truck is heavy... and... and... kinda long... so... ya... not a good performer.:-(

i would say that the leafsprings are softer, but then again i had four shocks in the back.

Default Esc

well i am sick of the Losi BND receiver so it has to go. i got A Novak Spy micro ESC in the mail today. I will be using a good old fashioned Futaba T2PL AM transmitter and a shrink tubed Futaba AM receiver. Hopefully this will be a good running truck after this mod, because it's not now.

Wow, nice job! It would be nice if you could mount the servo to the body or frame some other way than glue though...

Default runs good now

ok all done with the install on the new ESC. it work just like it should and it seems to have more power at the wheels. just have to do some painting and get the on off switch bolted down.

ya, i agree. the was a bad choice on building methods. i think i may tear this truck down and start over with a new body. my 1:1 is a 1995 F350 reg cab dually. this micro is a 1989/1990 so i may try to find a 93-96 body and start over. dont know for sure though.:?

Looks pretty good Chameleonkid! So any idea when the leafs will be done for mine? I too may re-do my scaler as you mentioned you might. Those cut holes and sloppy spots really get to you huh? As for the servo maybe make a "brace" of styrene or aluminum if you haven't already?

That dually is still totally one of my favorite builds.....of course all of my favorites are scalers. I don't have anything against straight crawlers, just diggin on all deez scalerz! The fabrication to make them more realistic is stellar.
