Cool

Wanna make it a build contest? I've never done that before and who better to challenge! I'll make one out of metal and you do the plastic! Winner by vote gets NOTHING

Thanks danally. A build off you say.... It's gona be hard to get votes on my part since I don't have such a big fan club. But I'll throw down...

Guide lines?
Stock motor size (what ever turn is needed)
No DiG
No 4WS
No over drive
No BtA
Stock shock size (losi shock only)
MiniClaws
Offset rims

What else????

Better get going on yours I've got the upper link mount done and A and B pillar done just need to glue them in.....

My thoughts:

Motor size...stock??? ok Or can I use a Redcat trany and motor and make it super slow???

1) Rims - anything in the stock size...like my MCT2, SCT2, or a stock losi or Redcat rim. I will even drop u a set of the MCT2 or SCT2 rims of choice for the build.
2) Tires - I say anything is cool...Miclaws or stock size...whatever fits the bill!
3) No dig, 4ws, etc is cool.
4) I will concede on the no BTA but any other custom steering links are allowed as long as the steering is in the stock location on the front of the axle.
5) I think any shock...redcats are the same length and mounting so no real advantages. I'm ok with stock shocks too.
6) Wheelbase...anything goes.

So how would we post it? separate or on one? I don't know if we even need to make a vote thing....but we can if you want.

Any more pictures of what it is supposed to be like?

I think he's talking about the sumo trany used as a transfer case with a divorced gear motor set-up...right?

I know this isn't about the build but anyone ever try a sumo axel up front and a losi in the rear?(overdrive) what are the axels gear ratios?

They are too far off. The difference would be so dramatic it wouldn't work. As for the overdrive, I will look for the post's unless someone else that has done one wants to post one of their pics.

I think the shafty qlo's are disco'd. The ratios were 3:1 losi was to fast & the qlo just draged a$$....Worthless IMO

By the way madjones...I didn't mean to thread jack. Hope it's ok for the challenge. It was honestly a spur of the moment thing.

I think if we do it we should start a separate post and leave this one for your build. If you agree, let me know and we will go from there. That way if people drop in with idea's it's not mucking up your build....as if I didn't already do that

And I say Chevy 55 would be a sweet addition...anyone else!?!?!

you can run the sumo tran but im stickin with the 100t stock can.. Ps I need a 100t losi can
1) Rims - anything in the stock size...like my MCT2, SCT2, or a stock losi or Redcat rim. I will even drop u a set of the MCT2 or SCT2 rims of choice for the build. damn sounds good to me
2) Tires - I say anything is cool...Miclaws or stock size...whatever fits the bill!
miniclaws all the way...
3) No dig, 4ws, etc is cool.
4) I will concede on the no BTA but any other custom steering links are allowed as long as the steering is in the stock location on the front of the axle.
Bta is possible but axle needs to be widened or 4link must be changed to a torque suspension chassis. Yes to everything else. What where you thinkin custom brass or alum work?
5) I think any shock...redcats are the same length and mounting so no real advantages. I'm ok with stock shocks too. losi and sumo are the same length but diameter is twice as big. I'm running losi to fit in between the links. No droop or microt springs
6) Wheelbase...anything goes. nice

So how would we post it? separate or on one? I don't know if we even need to make a vote thing....but we can if you want. post it up here Chevy you do the same. Ill put a vote up when everyone is done.

Any more pictures of what it is supposed to be like?
Yes I'll put some up...

LOL! I will try to for sure. I'm not going to keep anything secret here so I will tell u what I was thinking...

KEEP IT SMALL FOR ONCE!?!

I was thinking of doing it as small as possible and run the boggers. Everything I have built lately has been getting bigger and bigger! I will not be able to start on it this weekend as I am camping with the family. Next week am traveling for a few days so it looks like my start will be on paper as I sit by a campfire.

I hope Chevy55 joins in and ROCKS IT!

I am all good on all the guidelines but why no droop? As long as it is stock shocks??? I probably won't go that way but it sometimes happens.

As for the 100t, I might have a solution...I just worked out a Stroker for mathcanbefun and he had a good 100t in his rig that is now unused. I will see if he will part with it.

What rims do u want? MCT2? what color and air hole?

Chevy...same to u on the rims, just let me know if you want a set and it's yours.

The rims will be a week so take your time on the build.

I think we should start another thread and call it "The BOXTOP build off"
