the black one is made of thicker material. once this chassis lets be me in more control, it wont be on its top as often, the biggest reason why i like the bodiless approach. its cleaner, better side clearance, rollovers are easy as cake, and I don't have to keep spraying car bodies. |

I agree, it's got to be the way forward, but I'm still waiting to hear back from Don about combined postage for the Dub topper and the rear link.

| Very neat. You must post pictures once the topper is installed. GOOD NEWS - The new BWD website is up and running and has a much better shopping area that caters for multiple purchases! So get on over there and check out his great products http://stores.intuitwebsites.com/Bil...Categories.bok |

In answer to you question the articulation appears to be a little restricted compared to running the shorter links however, the climbing capability is improved and I couldn't detect any torque twist. I found myself making lines that I could not before and previous lines seemed easier. I was a little wary at first and thought I may just be wishing to see an improvement, but the longer I ran the more obvious it was that this is indeed a better set up. If this is what 10 minutes with a hack-saw or Dremel can achieve then I think it is a very worthwhile mod. As the short links have not been used you can always revert back to them. However, this has been a good enough experience for me to stick with it and will order the new rear plate from Don at BWD as his look vastly superior to my effort. Also, I know his holes will be in the right place where as mine was just guess work with a body reamer and looking at pictures Soon as I'm able I will post video - after I've removed the pen spring from the left rear shock. Hope this helps anyone with a Mini Wedge wondering whether to do the mod or not. | |

Hey neiloid1-looking good! Like your home-job rear plate idea. I've had my wedge for a few months and its been great. I'll be getting my topper and new rear plate this week. I'm stoked to get the rear plate installed, esp. after reading your positive comments on the one you've made.

As I've finally got a motor worthy of the rest of the rig I thought I would post an update. Thanks to RickM I am now the proud owner of a 33T HH Torque Master Mini. Just need to solder on wires and bullet plugs and I'm good to go. Thanks again Rick, it may be the most expensive example of this motor but to me it's priceless - can't wait to get it installed. |

Neil- I just posted up about a rear axle mod that is super easy and gets rid of a ton of real axle slop if you want to look into it. It works about as good as the rcbros ax10 locker. RickM |

And a shell to top it all off, before I go bodiless with a BWD Dub Topper. Just need Rovers and I'm sorted I reckon |

Thought I'd give a little update as I've just renewed my star. Just as everyone else is making their own pin tyres I finally get a set of Rovers installed on my Wedge. Only a year behing, but better late than never. Now I've just got to wait for a dry day to get out on the Portsmouth rocks to try them out. |

| Re: My BWD Mini Wedge Pro build thread
A New Year and a few bits arrived at Christmas so it's time to review my rig. Got the Dub Topper and axle mounts from Don at BWD so I'm going to break down the chassis, review my shock mounts, move the servo over to the right, get some small 2S lipos to sit next to the servo, rewire the motor, shorten the wiring and make some body panels. That should keep me busy for a coupe of days. The bug body will go to my brrother who is picking up my stock parts and making his own crawler, just need to decide on a chassis.... Also need to order the MIP drive shafts whilst I've got the axles off. |
