I have many runs on my stock fronts and see no reason to put the bigger plastic ones from the rr in it. After 2 years there is a little play in them but nothing I would consider excessive. What problems are you having with yours? Iv ran mine with and without the front swaybar and it doesn’t seem to make a difference so I leave mine off.

I had a hard time to. What I ended up doing was trimming out the light buckets from an old led light bucket set, drilling a hole in the one side, then mounting them to some clear lexan with a small screw, and put some reflective tape inside. It's not perfect but as a cheap DiY solution it worked out pretty well.

I bit the bullet and ordered some 3Dprinted mirrors from a link JDM74 found. They look sweet and are totally scale, but they were pricey!

Default My weeekend has arrived :)

This past week:
Remade the front sway bar from a new piece of 2mm spring steel as the mock up version had been bent way too many times, I get some good lift with this current setup and it clears everything at all extremes and everything in-between, I will live with the small amount of -camber for now and see how the BFG's hold up and how much front traction I get to help decide on final diff. fluid, I still want it "loose" but I also want the front to hook up at times. Been watching allot of Bryce Menzies 2018 Awd TT videos when I can find them.

This weekend:
Onward with shock mounting (already assembled: x-ring seals, M2C pistons, that green crap everyone loves and 50/30wt oil) and the new PL wheels/tires tonight, tomorrow all drive electronics and then onto scale components & items, I decided for sure to go with an off-set single rear spare and do a modified Geiser Brothers style rear end filler setup, I will be using a Hi-lift instead of a floor jack as I cant find any old stock RC4WD floor jacks:( I decided on my light bar set up as in what will be switched and what will be left on as running lights so I am wiring relays, switches, switched relays etc... cutting all wires (for ALL electronics, servo's, BEC, B-Link etc...) to proper length with new connectors when needed and soldering where appropriate, should have a good caged roller by Monday evening.

Note:
I am going for a "Semi-detailed scale look, obviously not as detailed as allot of the trucks pictured here, but allot more detailed than "out of the box" It will have allot of true life details, and allot of RC-incorporated details (dual 40mm fans as radiators etc...) and sorta meet in the middle as a fully drivable moderately crashable and hopefully highly survivable RC rig. Its not going to be a scale model that works (that's just no my goal, but I understand and fully appreciate that type of build and applaud its attention to detail and commitment). Trying to salvage my flicker account so I can host photos again and get some put up, thanks for all of your help guys and gals, Ed

Here is an interesting back and forth from about 2 years ago when AWD TT's started to pop up more often, its a good read for anyone interested in the subject.

Or just get another rear locker and put it in the middle diff, the diff housings are the same. Then download yourself the exploded view from Horizon and start ripping everything apart to get to it ;)

Edit, also somewhere back in pages 50-70?? there was a good discussion about doing this exact mod, might want to go a check that out, I didn't catch any of the details as I wasn't interested in that route, but there was some good back and forth about it.

Why do you want to lock it? Unless you’re going to turn it into a crawler it’s not going to handle or turn as good. Maybe sand dunes it would be fine

My reasoning for center diff lock is because when exiting corners the front tires rip loose while the rear grip thus making the truck push real bad. Also at initial start acceleration again the front tires rip loose and the acceleration is slowed

Bad horsies diff lock works awesome. My front tires didnt unload as bad on a clay/ dirt mix track.

I raced mine for 2 years. And its still getting raced at the same track by a different driver now.

I have one I picked up a couple of weeks before Christmas. Stripped the front diff pinion on the second hard run so I did new gears in both diffs and fitted alloy SSD housings. While it was apart I thought I'd pre-empt the next lot of problems. Did the Incision upper links, Savox 1258TG, HR bellcrank set, Exotek Horn, Losi light bar and an RPM bumper up front since it cracked easily.

Servo only seems to turn full lock one way at rest. Is fine once its moving. Also now eats a 5300 MAH 3S in about 1-2 minutes. Has no binding, I think I'll try another motor I have here.

Not a very good run with mine so far and is a pain to work on compared to other SC trucks. All my parts have had to come from Amain Hobbies too, nobody here in Aus seems to have them. Not Losis fault though. Overall a cool unit, perhaps not well suited to beginner as much as a Traxxas unit for example.

I'm thinking of converting it into a Rock Rey, has anybody done so?

You need to try out a 7200mah 2s or higher mah. Or you can get a lower kv and stick with higher mah 3s lipos.

I considered doing this to my Baja Rey a couple months ago so I made a list of the parts. I will see if I still have the list and post it here if I do.

In the end I decided against doing this because I like having a Trophy Truck style chassis and I bought an Axial Bomber kit to fill my Rock Racer/Rock Crawler dual purpose vehicle slot.

Who makes one that size that fits? and don’t say traxxas. I was running a 5300 but still get more time from my gens ace 5000. I know 300mah isn’t much but that’s the one down side to this truck is run time kind of sucks compared to my other 4wd sc trucks.

SMC i think has a 7500 2s. I actually had a 9000mah 2s in it at one point to see if it would fit. Soft pack though.

SMC is same as rc king. Those are the only packs i use in my go fasts.

The battery life was fine before all of the work. Logic would suggest its something I changed but it all seems fine.

Thanks Achilles Fender. I have a Slash which is similar enough for me, wouldn't mind changing it up a bit.

I got it sorted tonight, the ESC Fan wasn't plugged in properly and it was overheating. Changing batteries must have given it just enough time to cool off and work for a few more minutes.

I also took all the preload off the front springs. Then the front was too low and the rear was too high, and the preload was already backed off. Moving the lower shock mounts to the rear most hole flattened it out.

I had a great time running it around in the dark, the Losi light bar works quite well.
