Default ESC plate.......Now Mounted.

I cut out the middle portion of the front plate for the chassis and fit the esc very snug inside.

I moved the right link over one hole. Still hits.

The left link was original position.

You might have to move the servo over to the left, or twist the backside of it over a bit. Is it possible to run the uppers bolted to the outside of the chassis? And like oldhippie said, if it can layover too. Don't see to many more options.

well, the servo has to stay on the right to avoid the driveline. I have about 1/16th clear if I keep the link on the right side over to the hole it is in....., in the pic.

Actually layin it down, would be a pretty good option, but not sure if there will be a linear plane for the servo to the dig.

When I put mine together using hacked up stock servo mounts I had to move the links all the way to the outside so that it would clear the servo, when my dna 4link plates come in im gonna try something different, maybe a standard servo and not use the plate. BTW nice job hacking up the front plate for the ESC to slide right in, I may do that on mine when i go to finalizie placement and wiring in a few days.

Also i ran my rear shocks in the same spot yours are in now and it did not work to well for me. So I moved them outside of the link mount and moved the links inside the link mount and its so much better for me.

I wish my other set of yellows would come in so I can soften up the rear a bit.

It's gonna be a tough one, because the servo plate is angled, it looks like enough space, how about laying it down, and cut a slot so the servo arm can move back and forth? Maybe sink the servo down alittle like the ESC? Might have to make another plate out of plexi. At least that way you could move the link back to the central hole on the rear plate.

How important do you think it is to be back at the "central hole".......?

the bottom links are triangulated....so may the tops might be okay a little out?

Samb, what happened when you ran the shocks in the same place as me?

I can look for this to see if what happened to you is the same for me?

Can you post a pic of your setup?

THANKS GUYS! Good feedback.

can you put some spacers between the mounting tabs of the servo, and the bracket? Raise it up some?

I could and did think of that, but I want to try and reduce the angle from servo to dig as much as possible.

So, I think I am going to lay it down and maybe have servo horn below the plastic plate.......first option and than on top if that does not work.

thanks.

Default Update on Dig servo mount.

Now it is out of way and I can mount links in center. I am going to try this and see if I can make a link tomorrow.

I have mine setup like this and have no clearance issues....I am also running the JR DS 3421 servo which is a bit smaller in dimensions.

no clearance problems with the link hitting the servo. i do have my links mounted on the bottom of the link plate on the axle. yours are on top which may create the problem you are having.

That is how I have mine mounted and it has been working fine.
I have not made up mine mind if it is worth trying getting it lower or not.

That looks good on the mount, 5150. Might wanna flip the servo so the horn is at the front(shorter link), cut a slot in the plexi for servo arm movement, shouldn't need much, it only moves about 1/4 to 3/8", then run a link to the dig operating rod. It should work perfect if you get a good straight pull on the rod.

I have my uppers mounted on the under side with no clearence issues at all. Having the servo mounted like that defeats the purpose of the mount. Move the links to the underside and mount the servo back where it was and you will be good to go.Me and 5 or more others are doing it with much success. Try it your like it.

Okay. I see. Do you think or have you noticed any diff in mounting link underneath or above plate. I wonder......

Maybe I will try and see how it responds. I just heard it is good idea to have uppers parallel to ground and that would mean for servo to be moved.

thanks for the help.

I figured if it was closer the angle would be harder to make straight. I was actually thinking of cutting into the plate. Good idea. so I thought of keeping it further. just brainstorming some ideas.

DNA is pretty smart, cause i see it defeats purpose, but dna made holes there. I would like it in the mount for sure.

So, you moved links outside chassis? And, you put link underneath plate on axle? Is that right?

Thanks Guys!

I am almost done.
