Default Which type motor runs smoothest and strongest at crawl speeds

For crawling, which type motor works best, all other things being equal, a sensored, brushless motor or a brushed motor? The stock Axial come with brushed and runs pretty smooth and quiet, from what I've seen. Isn't that a cheaper setup than brushless-sensored?

Brushed, 35t is popular

The higher cost ones run smoother than lower cost ones. In general, brushed will give better control at low cost. The upper end is a handwound five slot like my CrawlMaster Pro or Puller 500 Crawl. With brushless, it takes a special design to come close to what brushed offers.

So, instead of spending $200 on a sensored, brushless, 4-pole motor/esc combo, spending $100 on a sensorless, brushed 2-pole motor /esc combo will be smoother at crawl speeds?

Its all very well to want the smoothest motor..but will you be able to drive slow and smoothly?

I have x2 hh 35T torque master pro's, and being new to the hobby i found them to be fantastic. Good low down torque and with a 3S lipo you had plenty of punch. But 13T i've heard are great also, so get your wallet ready for some craziness.

It all comes down to personal preference i suppose and how crazy your crawling is going to get.
