| Okay guys, major mods in the works here...
I don't know if I can even call it a Super Slick anymore! I think I may have to widen it a bit, but we'll see. The rear links are installed, but I need to fix the center triangulated ones, they are hindering articultion. Here is a side view. It looks sick, I can't wait to fit electronics into it, but that is a few weeks away still. Here is a top view of the chassis so far. It's a standard ladder chassis, although not the final version, I am sure. When I get my mill, it'll be redone. You can see the Mini-T trans in this pic. I modified the stock center brace to mount the center links to. My problem is that the point where they meet at the axle is too wide, and the outer links hit it while it's trying to articulate. As I was posting the pics to my site and looking at it, I figured out how to fix it. I'll do that tomorrow. Swampers look so nice with this setup! Everything is temporary at this point. I know the side plates will be redone. The cross braces between the plates are threaded rod with nuts. The final ones will be flush mounted screws into threaded spacers between the plates. The outer links are currently threaded rod capped with Traxxas captured ends. They will something else when completed, but they do the job for now. I haven't decided on shocks yet. They will have to be aluminum and small, maybe Mini-T rears? I don't know. Enjoy! |

Yeah, I do like the body, although it is a bit too short. Maybe I'll find a quad cab body or something...

Yeah, I think I mentioned somewhere else maybe on another site) that my tires were cast from a mold of those tires, only the rubber mine are made of is much softer. The downside is that they are solid, but at least they are really grippy.

Could someone with a stock SuperSlick MT post some measurements please? I need to know the clearance above the axle, axle width, and the weight of the total rig would be great as well. Even a good close-up picture with some sort of reference for measurement would be great. I have yet to find one at my local TRU, but I have some plans and I want to get parts together, so I kinda need to know some specs. Thanks.

Here are some pics of the new truck. I slapped the Super Swampers on and locked the center. This little thing crawls pretty good. The electronics SUCK and it's top heavy, though. Last edited by BlueMonster; 05-15-2005 at 01:53 PM. |

The tires are pretty tall, and they raise the center of gravity up even higher. That is thier only downfall. They are very sticky, though, so they crawl over anything. They do raise the clearance, as well. I am going to the LHS to look for a good body today. |

Okay, so let's see some pics with this Jeep body you are talking about! I want to increase power and runtime. How to do it? I have several slightly larger motors laying around, I'll see if I can make something fit. What about batteries? Anyone have thier parts laying around that could suplly Mah and vot specs from that tiny battery in the truck? |

Okay guys, I will post pics this weekend when I get a little more done, but I have a MAJOR modification almost done. Think Clod steering. Look at your front axle and you be able to figure out what I had to do! I am running VMG stock shocks, but definitely will need softer springs. I have a gear reduction unit ready to go in, just need to figure out a way to attach the drive lines! |
