Default Vaterra V100 onroad cars

I just bought the '69 Corvette version of this car. it was a spur of the moment purchase. I'm a sucker for Corvettes and have wanted an onroad car for years.

Anyone else have one of these? Where is a good place to find parts? Any aftermarket support at all?

I'd like to get rid of the rear toe-in.. It's wearing rear tires like crazy.

I converted mine to RWD. I took out the center and front drive shafts. And no, that's not why rear tires are worn.. I'm not doing donuts or anything lol.. I've just been practicing cornering and doing straight line high speed runs.

I'm also looking for tires for these things... Obvious choice is new set of tires from Vaterra but I don't like how fast they wore out.. and buying new rims every time is kind of a bummer. Could someone help me understand what other rims/tires will fit this thing properly? Maybe a little harder compound of tire too or just something with a little more meat to it.

All in all a fun car though.. I'm loving it.

Personally, I like the cars and would consider replacing my retired Electric 4-Tec with their brushless Black '69 Camaro..........then put something other than that Camaro body on it. That car has a few of the factory upgrades along with the brushless for a price that compares to that of the Sprint 2 Flux. Tire wise, not sure what's going to work better if you converted it to RWD and are burning up tires, other than putting it back to 4wd and still not expecting a long tire life out of them.

No way am I going to run an awd Corvette... it's just silly. It's the toe that's destroying the tires... insides are toast way before the rest of the tire. Wish there was some different control arms or something to dial it back a bit.

I've got a set of the HPI Vintage wheels and tires coming. Hopefully they fit.

and it's green.. what a surprise...

What are you running for electronics and battery? I'm geared up with 28t pinion on stock motor and probably sticking with 2s lipo..

I'm considering the '67 Mustang, I really like how detailed the bodies on these are! The last onroad car I had was a HPI E-10 and that thing was a POS! What are some of the weak points on these?
How well do they hold up to brushless power?

Been doing some research on these things and love the way they look. I found out that the bodies are a 194mm width and 256mm wheelbase. I'm really considering buying a 67 Mustang body and painting it to match the Elanor Mustang and mounting it up to my TC3 that has been sitting on the shelf. It should fit nicely on there. Anyone have any underside body shots I could look at?

Check out the HPI vintage wheel tire combos. They would look pretty good IMO!

Been looking at those too, lots of great looking wheels. I'll have to see what I can find that will be close to the real Elanor wheels.

If it was the toe causing this it would stand to reason that the whole surface would wear at at a measurably accelerated rate vs zero toe. Clearly the tires are not flat when this wear pattern is caused. Also, as it is both tires, I suggest stiffening up the rear suspension to minimize the rear end squatting under hard acceleration, primarily because of the conversion to rwd. An adjustable rear sway bar setup could help as well.

The tire/wheel thing does suck though. Hopefully you can just buy rears as a set instead of all four. Just like a 1:1 Vette now in that regard.

Have fun!

The stock rubber and rims are sold in pairs, with the rears being wider, so just buying those should be easy.

Just found this on Vaterra's site.... 2015 Ford Mustang V100-S 1/10th 4wd RTR (VTR03024): Vaterra
I see one in my future. Not sure which one, I really like the Bullitt green '67 too. Vaterra is stepping up big time as a brand IMO, The Ascender and the v100 bodies look great, very detailed.

I bit the bullet and ordered a 67 Mustang body, wheels, tires, and brake rotors to build an Eleanor themed Mustang. The body is pretty pricey and over all I spent about $100. Will be working on this over the next few days/weeks to get her painted and detailed up. Will post up a pic when it's done.

Had a setback the other day on this project, nothing serious but have to order some new pieces and will take a few days. In the mean time it gives me some more time to finalize some other details.
