Brilliant, still stuck in Kansai looking for a rock, somewhere, ANYWHERE....

I do like the "CR-01 OK" notes though.

4 hours later, I just took a ride around the new neighborhood and found a 30 foot pile of rubble and big rocks out in the woods! Looks like I've gotta get wrenching for when the rain clears up. Sucks that your leave is up Defender, I remember those days, time to get a haircut and start shaving again...

Default importing kits?

Anybody here ever import a full truck kit? I'd like to get an AX10, but Rajiten sells the ARTR for 49,000 yen , was thinking about ordering one from one of the vendors but I don't know how hard customs would hit me, don't want to end up losing money when I figure in the shipping.

Thanks

I imported about 5 in one go and it manage to slip through customs without getting taxed...no idea how! I imported one by itself and got slapped about 1000 yen....not much more. Depending on where oyu buy it from ask them if they can write a lower value on the shipping slip and invoice...it helps ;)

I recently forked out 10000 yen on a delivery from the USA which is the most I have had to pay but the order was quiet expensive :(

Sounds like the rules are being applied as consistently at customs as immigration and the ward office.
Thanks, I'll let you know how it goes if/when I order.

Ship it to a Japanese friends address, using their name! You will be amazed at how quick it arrives and tax free ;)

You can always just get a CR-01, but an AX10 will probably be a little more compish..

Yeah, I was kicking around the idea of the CR-01, but it just looks like such a random collection of ironmongery. Plus, I'm tinkering with the idea of a 6x6, and I know that the AX-10 axles are capable of it, somebody has already done it.

...i got my 'parts' from TCS...reasonably steep shipping but i NEVER get customs taxed...Give them a shot...

...Genki you will have to go to that comp on behalf of ALL of us May the force be with you...

...Also see recently that one of the RC mags, forget which one, mentioned they would be having a Kanto based comp later in the year...Slightly weird vehicle requirements but looks pretty interesting...might look at going if i can get there...

Which mag was that BitHed? There are a few meets happening recently, the IMEX meets have been on all year but this is the first I have had a chance to get to...maybe you guys should head up for the spring meet ;)

Do my best to represent the team....hopefully not taking one for the team!

Hi guys, I am getting back into tha game. When I am not on the boat I am stationed at NAF Atsugi. I built a super class and used to run it at Sagami river back in '05. Just happy to see some more crawlers in Nippon.

Gotta love the riverbeds there. That is usually where we had our bonfire drinking parties with the locals.

My Mom used to work at NAF Atsugi, but now she's at Yokota Airbase. My Dad works at Camp Zama, but they live at Yokota. I was going to be heading to Japan in a couple of weeks to visit them around the middle of May. I was planning on bringing my crawler. I would love to meet up with some people to go crawling. Or if anyone can tell me where some spots are, that would be great.

I can show you some spots around Camp Zama, but I'm the only one around here that I've seen crawling. You should also take the chance to visit the huge hobby shop while you're here too..

Thanks Defender, that would be cool. I'll be leaving California on May 15th. I know that some of the guys on this thread were talking about parts. If there is anything that I can pick up here before I leave, let me know. The LHS near my house has an awesome selection of goodies.
