Anyone doing any crawling this weekend? I'm thinking about heading back up to Pike Island dam this Sunday as long as the rain holds off. If anyone is interested in tagging along let me know.

I can't this weekend and it is supposed to be pretty cold. I definitely want to run there though.

Look for Yorkville, OH on mapquest. Pike Island dam runs from Ohio to West Virginia right at Yorkville, OH. Click on Mapquest's ariel image feature, and you can see the dam.

If you have GPS mapping, it's just about 40*08'58.49"N x 80*41'59.62"W.

Sounds good to me. We need to schedule a GTG so we can all meet and discuss the plans for the club. I am tied up until next week. Based on the weather, we should plan one of the upcoming weekends.

More to follow...

I was wondering if it would make sense to get a consensus of what rigs people are running?

For instance, I'm planning to make mine more of a 2.2 scale crawler...but since it's got a SW2 chassis I could go 2.2 comp instead if there are a lot of people setting them up that way.

I don't know if it would help or not, but for me, I wouldn't want a scaler if everyone is going to be able to crawl more stuff than me because I have limited flex, full fenders, etc.

What do 'yuns think?

Don't worry about that...We will probably have several classes. I know that there will be more scalers involved.

I am guessing this is what we will start with:

2.2
Super
Scaler
Unlimited

We will start this spring with just some GTG to get a read on how many people will be involved. I am thinking we will start comps for the summer. We really need to find some locations first. So far I am liking Polyophio's places that he posted on the AB-Charles Forum.

We need to find some more centralized.

Crawln Coles,
Any spots that you have identified yet????

I am trying to make a 2.2 clod with an NN Chassis. This is going to be a struggle. Track width is my hurdle.

I can run my super and 2.2 though.

I have a 2.2 scaler thats 95% finished. I'm in the process of building a 2.2 comp rig.

It doesn't really matter what you run as long as you enjoy runing it.

...except when you're the guy who can't climb **** because your flex is too limited and your truck is only 10" wide and rolls over too much!!

I don't want to be that guy. :( (My truck has a 12" WB and 10" width.)

Don't worry about it...this is all for fun. That is why we are going with GTGs for the spring. that way we can see how bad we all are...

Your not the only newbee out there...I have only run one comp myself.

Remember it is all for the fun

My scaler is running a 11.25" WB and it has a 10" track width. I score a 711 on the 30* rti ramp.

You just need to get your CG as low as possible. And don't shove all the weight up front, balance the chassis. You will get better results that way.

How do you actually figure out your ° of articulation?

*** To get the ° sign, hold down the ALT key while typing 248 and then release the ALT key. ;)

Go here and enter your info. You need ramp °, WB and height of one tire at full artic. From the bottom of tire to ground. That will give you your RTI score.

Thanks for the tip.
