My face is cramped from the big grin on my face the whole time. We have video and pictures...even a 360 degree camera was there. Give us some time to dig through them all...

I cut the nubs off the side guards so it sat flat.

Yes they are a PITA but once dialed in, they will be done.

Conditions were brutal out there today, wet sand that stuck to the cars and weighted them down pretty badly. We still had a great time, can't wait until next Sunday to race in dryer conditions.

The weight of all the wet sand causing the body to drag around the turns.

The carnage.

The end of the day.

My body weighted so much it looked like a lowrider.

Got a few of Rckcrwlr's Demon and GDB's Rally Legend.

Bob's little Rally Legend really handled well. I was impressed with how well it held a line in the wet sand today. My car is sitting in the basement waiting for the sand to dry. I"ll shake it out tomorrow.

This was such a blast today! Even in the conditions we were running and the clean-up and maintenance that needs to follow it just doesn't get any better man!

I love not acting my age, can't wait for the next run! Great time fellas!

Your little Rally Legend in the air is my favorite pic of the day. Too bad that soda bottle is in the pic, it looks nice and scale without that.

The battery doesn't need to sit flat, mine sits at an angle slightly and works fine.

As for the chassis protector I have been running it on mine since I built it. If I have to access a screw I use an exacto knife to cut out around the screw to get the screw out. Its easy and keeps everything in good shape, even the screws which are now recessed because of the chassis protector. My chassis protector has been on my car since February now and looks pretty hammered, but its cheap to replace, only difference really is mine is from Team Associated, both are probably from the exact same place though.

Dang the Subaru got t-boned. Great pictures
Even with the under bodies. Still accumulated enough sand to weigh the car down?

To be honest Ty, the terrain was not good for getting a good read on it. Hopefully next weekend will have a better example.

Early on I seemed to have great control with slides and navigating through the S curves. As the car got heavy, performance started to suffer.

I'm going to keep it for now.

Yeah, man I'll tell ya, the ballfield was a dirt/sand combo and it was just moist enough to stick and keep packing on. It would stick to the inside of the body so much the lexan shells seemed like they weighed 2 lbs. and it was almost a 1/4" think on the chassis lid. It had to literally be scraped off the bottom of the chassis.

It weighed the cars down so much that we were only getting 12-15 min. on a 5000 mah battery that we normally would get 25-30 min. on.

After it's all said and done...wouldn't have it any other way. It was fun!

I'm curious. In racing on wet tracks. I use WD-40 on the tires. Not just as a tire softener. But to keep the tires clean. The dirt doesn't build up on the tires. Allowing the tread to do it's job. I wonder if a light coat on the under body and the body would help prevent dirt build up.

Great shots, there's a few in there that really capture the joy contained in the DRX.

It does! There are some local guys who spray the entire car down before the wet races. It collects dust if it is dry, but in the wet it keeps the big chunks of dirt from sticking.

Do they spray the underside of the body as well? We were talking about that today, but I wondered if the WD40 would each the paint off the lexan.

Never has for me. I have soaked crawlers in it too before TTC events. Sprayed every square inch of them and never had issues. WD40 is not a conductor so no issues with electronics and since it is consider a degreaser I have never had issues with paint either.

Regarding Demon Child and the DRX in general, what is the OEM shock oil?

Feels like about 30w.

BTW, have I told you that this is a blast?
