slow reverse problem

hello!
I got my rs10 two days ago, and i'm very happy with that, but I think i have some problems.
when i go forward, its fast and nice and even drifting a bit in dirt. but in reverse its very slow, as if a very low voltage is coming. the point is that before i ran my rs10 i connected one of my motors to a 5v battery, but the car was off and without the original battery. is that possible i ruined something? its supposed to be like that?

its just that i dont know a lot about rc cars, and i need experianced people's help here.

also, i have a problem in the tx. it was all ok and showed the Lcd screen, but in some point it stopped showing, but still controlled tha car. is that just battery fail or a real problem? another annoying question i guess: the car didnt come with the sel key options. can i see a sheet with it or something?

I would disconect everything then plug it back together and see what happens. Also are you running the stock battery? If so I would recommend investing in some lipo batteries and change the tamiya plug to a deans or xt60.

disonnect everything means also unsolder the wires? or just unplug the battery? yes i am running stock but planning on buying new ones. replugging the battery wont help, i tried it. thanks anyway!
