Are those Plowboy tires just plain stock or have they been narrowed by you or someone else?

Nice looking rig by the way.

Thanks. The tires were not narrowed. I just made to fit the XTM Thorn wheels. Took 6 tires to make 4 bigger ones. The XTM wheels were narrowed by AKRCC or at least that is who i bought them from.

I just looked at other guys super plowboys and counted the number of treads to cut, to make them fit the XTM wheels. Took me about 6 hours to cut and glue them together. Just had to be patient with the gluing. Using NWTT foams from TCS.

Shane,

Thanks much for the info. Sounds like a time consuming process but well worth it.

Had this Chevy body for a while finally got the nerve to cut it up. Set it up to not have to use clips on the rear Left the rear body posts on to protect my dig servo setup.

Went with softer springs all around. Truck reacts alot better. Just some yellow ones I had in my shock parts pile.

Couple of off body shots too, in between the rains.
Oh and some narrowed to 1.8" 40 series I bought a month or so ago, waitin on RC4WD's 4.0 tires to come out for these.
The white you see in the last picture on the front axle hex is thread tape to keep the pins in the cvd joint from coming out. Had one come loose last week even with thread locker.

Default Cheap front weights

Cheap fishing sinkers + jb weld = 6 oz weights. They say they weigh 1oz each but they dont. 5.7 oz for 6 of em. I am at about 6oz each with the jb weld.

Had to grind one sinker to make it fit the knuckle. It is held in place by the hex and the knuckle arm. They are the perfect size for these knuckles. A little more grinding and no binding . We'll see how long the plastic axle parts hold up with the increased weight.

Had to change out the front springs, too.

Ok man. You got me hooked watching you and Rockedup Ricky. I have a super coming. I may have to buzz you to help me set it up. You have done awesome stuff to your rig since I seen it last at broken dam. Look forward to the comp on the 23rd. Are you coming?

Thanks for the good words. I like the super cause when i am sucking at 2.2 i just get this rig going and get some confidence back. It will crawl almost anything with ease.

I wont be at the 23rd comp. My wedding date in Northern Cali. We should be at Disney, OK this weekend the camp/comp weekend.

PM me if you need something. I have extra pieces of that 1/2" delrin if you want to make some links like mine. Easy to build em up.

Decent with my current foam setup
RC4WD X-Lock 40 Series

I will need to cut my current foams down or change them out. The x-locks seem to need a soft foam. Be ready to toss the stock foams and find something better. I have had limited use because of the rain. I have ran them on an indoor course, they did better after i added some weight to my truck. I would give them a 7 out of 10. I switched back to my Homemade plowboys since i added more weight to the truck. Just too lazy to change the foams on the x-locks. might do it tomorrow.

Look at RockedupRicky's review too. I think he runs Kreepy Red's. His feel alot better than my foam setup. He was hooking up a bit better then me on the same course but He runs a heavy truck too.

Nice build. I like your knuckle weights. How did you attach them to the knuckle? Are they just snugged down by the hex onto the arm? It looks like Im answering my own question here but I just cant see how that would keep them secured.

Yes, I had to grind some of the JB weld to get it fit around the knucke arm on the one side.

Then you put the hex on and it fits pretty good. One will kinda move around the on the knuckle and the other one stays put. That is just the difference of my ability to make them the same diameter. Just used electrical tape to the get the correct fit around the knuckle then just put the jb weld on. The tape held in the jb weld too. Then just removed most of the tape after drying.
