Default Shane's Comp NN Super Build

Got a clod off the board cheap. Then proceeded to dump time and money in.

17" wb with 14" width
Tekin Fx-R, castle BEC,
Integy 35t motors, 8tooth pinions, electric dig with the HH manly switches and HS-55
Futaba S9157 Servo
Nomadio React
Metal lockers, Thundertech CVD's, Hand Bros. BTA steering,
Traxxas Big bores with limiters and soft springs
HPI Body (After two colors, it gets complicated for me with paint)
Narrow XTM Thorns (Thanks AKRCC), Now Desert Dogs
My shot at plowboys (waiting on NWTT #8 Rockhammer Hybrid Squat Foams)
My shot at 1/2 Delrin links(~$1.50 ft) with 8/32 thread and Revo Rod ends and tamiya mounts. Check out my method for tapering the ends . Took me a few minutes to figure it out.
I'll replace the plastic clod axle parts if and when they break with aluminum.

Thanks. Yeah, tapering the ends just hit me like a brick after about 10 minutes of staring at them.

Damn, hope no one would see that one.
That was the first one I did with a dremel. Then I thought up of the Drill and grinder method.

Cool build...Did you epoxy or bolt on those shock mounts to the delrin links?

Cheers,

Flattened out a small area for the mount to sit and I drilled and tapped two 3mm holes for each mount and used two 3mm screws per.

I knew the two screws would probably hold but i went ahead and added a small amount of gorilla glue. Just wanted the insurance on this big rig.

"hey shane, did norva cut the delrin to the lengths you needed?"

No, I just got eight 1 foot lengths off their ebay auction. Just search 1/2" delrin. They do custom lengths as well, from their auction page information.
Also, you can get it in white or black.

Bought 4 sets of NWTT 8# Rockhammer Hybrid Squat Foams- 4.75" dia. x 2.625" wide for the plowboy's. I took two full foams and cut one down to size to fit inside the tire. Once I got them and put them up against the tires i was concerned about the width. I automatically wanted to add more foam on the sidewalls. Well, I didn't have more foam laying around so I just took the left-overs and put them on the outside of the rears only. The weight of each rear tire is 1 lb. Two fronts are 14oz for each, (no additional weight added by me) These foams react ssssllllooooooowwww...
I was at Disney, OK this past weekend and the tire/foam setup worked pretty good even in the rain. I was just free wheeling around. I have limited experience with super foam/tire setup but it seemed to work. The dense inner foam keeps the tires from rolling over, I think the tire being lower profile helps with this as well.
I am going to run this setup for a while until I think I the need to change something, like more foam or stick on weight in the front. Last pictures are with all the weight of the truck on the one rear tire.

Edit: Did the same thing with the foams to the front as well.

Yeah, the wheels work great. Thanks for the deal. I use the cheapest super glue (tip from someone on the board) and the tires come right off. Good right now since I am working on the foam setup. Seems to be working good.

I wanted to do a different body. Its sitting as low as possible on the NN chassis. Not too good for rollovers but i like the look and this rig doesn't rollover it climbs everything!
