Okay, you said you are running your motor backwards and I was wondering so i understand, is backwards meaning your motor pinion gear is facing the rear or front of your rig.....

thanks for your help.....

Ok, I had to go back and do some research. The setup I was talking about was RIKPAL's and he did his motor on the right side of the chasis with the pinion and spur facing the front of the rig, hope this helps.

Found the rig I was talking about here: Bulu 2 Laydown frame

Yes, it helps, that is what i did and i was trying to figure out if i made a good decision or adverse....

what is the benifit of mounting the motor this way?

Doesn't it reduce torque twist, or does it send the power of motor to left rear...?

thanks dude

Well with it being mounted and ran that way it kinda counter balances, there is still some TT but now the motor is haning out on that side and the weight of the motor kinda helps balance it out. I don't know personaly, I havn't ran my rig like that for a while. I have my rig setup with the "REVERSE COWGIRL" method that I borrowed the idea from DUIdirk.

It's nice, could be a little lower in gearing but kinda hard to do, so right now I'm around 40:1 gear ratio so it's got fair wheelspeed and descent low-end. The brushless helps alot too though.

Cool stuff......How do you figure out your gear ratio.....?

I am running pede tranny with tlt axle and everything is stock...

Also, 55t motor with 12t pinion and 84 spur...

Could you tell me what ratio I have.....?

thanks for the help

84 devided by 12 = 7.0:1 X 2.72:1 X 2.66:1 = 50.6464:1

2.72 for Pede trany
2.66 for TLT axles

That depends on what you want to do. If you are running six subc cells, that is a decent ratio for crawling. On my daughter's comp SW2 rig, she has a pede tranny, with 14/84 running on 8 2/3A cells, with a 55 handwound motor. With the throttle profile in her mamba max, it creepycrawls, but still retains a little wheelspeed when needed.

Like Tanis says with the right amount of juice on 6 cells it's decent add 1 or 2 more cells and you got good control with nice punch for wheel speed.

Yeah, but on 8subc cells, I noticed you still have plenty of wheelspeed to get the front end to slide when the dig is engaged. Either mine has too much traction on the rear tires, or I don't have enough wheelspeed. I'm upgrading to the Novak Crawler system real soon.
Hijack mode off. Back to TT.:-P

Interesting article. Thanks again Rockmike and Tanis for the info you gave me at the comp. Did some drilling and changed the angle of my upper links, now my T/T is at a minimum and the crawler seems to do alot better. Hope to crawl with you guys again soon.

good deal glad to hear it,keep that chassis as light as you can this always helps matters.I was in e-burg this weekend found some killer crawlin, managed to break 2 drivlines.I blew out both rear shock seals, and my t.t. came back with a vengence. Now i know my dual stage pistons are deffinatly helping the t.t. cause without that oil in there it was a differant truck.

What was you doing in Elensburg? Sounds like you had a fun time. Maybee you should try boiling your D-lines to see if they'll last longer.

Alright Mike, spill the beans as to where this spot is. I haven't had a chance to check out E-burg yet, but I expect there is good rock up there.
