This is going to be one of those builds where the updates are few and far between, but I have been wanting to really beef up my CC01 chassis for a while now, so I guess you could call this V3 of my CC. This is list of parts that I intend to purchase:

Thanks, I don't drive this thing light. That is the great thing about CC01s. It takes a wrecking ball (or savage first grader) to destroy one.

I forgot to give the specs on V2 btw so here they are:
55t motor (killed by sand)
1mm lift (= to 1 inch lift)
Spare tire
Losi 'Mini' Rock tires

Thank you It is going to be a long long long build though. I am estimating about a year of work will go into it. After that, I am getting me a SCX10 to accompany my donkey(if you saw the Top Gear Bolivian special, you know about Richard's donkey)

Did some number crunching, and if I choose the Rock Crushers or mud slingers, I need to save up atleast 409.64$, but if I go with the Rok Lox, the total will be 429.64$. So the Rok Lox are eliminated and now I have to pics between Mud Slingers and Rock Crushers. Here are also some new pics so you can kind of see what I have been doing with V1 and V2

Got an email from GPM today. The motor mount and knuckle arms have been shipped. Shouldn't be too much longer before I can start getting some real updates going.

Actully there is only two. I figured that I would start a new thread instead of bump the 'introduction' thread on it. if I get it build up enough though, you may see it at a local comp next year.

Bring it out now? the courses we are building will not be hard, and we can even give you some setup tips with it.

I will look into it. If I can get the parts from GPM I may just do that. The front end is broken and the motor is dead, so if those parts come in before the comp, and I can get it working, I may bring it

While waiting for my RC4WD motor and GPM parts to get here, I decided to take care of the front brick. I fabbed up a skid plate using the bottom of an old coffee can and went to work

After cutting and sanding:

Also, while I had the front end off, I re-locked the front diff:

Installed on the FJ:



Four hours, several cuts, and several profanities later, I had this:




As you can see in the above picture, the front wheels stick out in front of the skid plate, which means the approach angle is much much better, and it looks cool

Just wondering, but how long does it typically take for RC4WD and GPM to deliver? I am just wondering when I can expect to ge them.

RC4WD takes anywhere from 3 days to 2 weeks depending on what you ordered. Even longer if it's preorder. GPM takes about 10 days to 2 weeks after you've paid. I took care of my GPM order and got it from Hong Kong in 10 days.

No real update today, but got an email from RC4WD, something wentwrong and we have to re-order the motor, ugh, but the GPM parts should be here soon, and when I can get a chance to re-order the motor, I will.

I will probably get a GRU at some point in time. What would you suggest for a good GRU?

Got the 45t re-ordered just a few minutes ago, and I have started looking into GRUs. Which is better, 2:1, 3:1, or 4:1. I plan on doing scale competition level crawling and basic trail riding with my rig, so which would be best when paired with a 45t motor?
