How much wider does this make the front from hex to hex if possible and any clue as to what the gear ratio is in those 3 racing fronts? Am thinking using this in the front with a wider axle and bigger shocks for the rear.

I'm not sure how much wider since I never had the stock knuckles on it. The front is at 7 1/4" hex to hex and the rear is 7 3/4" hex to hex. The gear ratio in the portals are the same as ther AX-10 version 1.5:1. I do have a mod that will maintain a 1:1 ratio as well as increase the strength slightly, that way you can use the stock rear axle.

After reading through a ton of threads, I decided to take some cues from miniwheelers 4-link setup. This in my opinion seems to be the best functioning 4-link for the CC-01 chassis. A couple things I wanted were performance and that nothing got hung up on the rocks. I used the same ideas that he came up with but in a slightly different configuration.

First off I needed lower link mounts that created a smooth transition from link to axle without anything hanging below the tube. I like how Jim's mounts keyed into the original lower link clearance slot on the axle so I went with that on mine as well. I used 18g steel for the bracket C and some fab tabs from RCP Crawlers as well as a gusset on the bottom to strengthen the tabs.

Next was the upper mount. I brazed some nuts to the ends of the truss which retains the lower link brackets and added a 3rd support for addtional strength. Again, I used a couple of fab tabs with a plate gusset to attach the upper links.

And here it is all mounted up.

Here you can see the plate that supports the lower links at the chasis, should be way strong.

It might be too tall.

I might put some smaller tires on it to help with the CG (2 3/4" under the rails). Gotta run it first though.

like the use of the nut-serts in the upper chassis plate too

Made a little more progress, just a few things left to do and it's play time.

I wanted a smooth flatter undercarriage which required a 2 piece driveline due to the extended wheelbase. Not a fan of a really long driveshaft to kill my breakover. I used a hilift driveshaft for the front half and ran it through a carrier bearing . Then I used a short Junfac CVD driveshaft for the rear portion. Using some 22 gage steel, I made a skid plate for it that would protect the entire front half of the driveshaft as well as add support to the carrier bearing bracket. I will replace all the buttonheads on the bottom with countersunk hardware during final reassembly.

As you can see in this picture, nothing to get hung up on and the driveshaft is well protected.

I also made a front bumper for it that is more functional than aesthetically pleasing. I wanted to make sure it won't get caught up on the rocks and stop me cold during a comp. A fairlead will be installed on the middle piece. Servo winch on this thing for reliability and super slow line speed.

A little paint to help hide the ugliness.

A few more pics of it 90% complete. Not digging the orange but too late now.

I also made a battery holder to keep my Lipo's where they belong.

Thanks, I took it for a quick spin in the shop, it seems super stable and can climb like crazy, just need more flex in the rear and it's good.

BTW, class 2 is calling you.
