Default Which direction

I have a brand new set of RC4WD Mickey Thompson baja claw and I am not sure which direction the treads go?
Does the tip of the V go forward?

The tip of the V should hit the ground first if you're traveling forward. This promotes self-cleaning of the tread. Some people prefer to run them backwards in dry terrain, but if you run them backwards in sticky mud they'll have a greater tendency to pack/cake/clog up.

Normally yes. See the lower photos from RC4WD's site. Normally the point of the "V" on tires should always contact the ground first when rolling forward. The idea is that if the tire ever loses traction, the "V" will push the loose ground out of the way so the tire can find firm ground. That said, I've seen guys put them on the other way in an effort to have inside of the "V" grab a protrusion on a rock. The good news is, you can easily experiment to see what works best for your rig/terrain as all you'd need to do is swap the left and right side tires.

Many run tires like those “backwards, v facing backwards” and swear by it. Any tires that I have with a v-style tread I’ve tried both ways and have never left them backwards. V forward felt more predictable in every situation. Backwards seemed to give a little better traction in a few instances, but the tires felt very “choppy”, especially when trying to get the outside edge of the tire to get ahold of something. I’d encourage anybody who’s undecided to try both ways and make your own decision.
