Took AFC out for another test on sunday. Lasted lass than a minute. So unsatisfying.

Found out where the weak spot is. Kinda dissapointed too. It was the CVD. Snapped at the ball part of the outter stub.

I can say that the HH Cobalt motor is probably the strongest, smoothest, & fastest motor out right now.

How is the low end throttle control? Can you get that super slow wheelspeed that a 55t is capable of? Thanks DTP

Oh yeah, it's awsome. I still haven't done the initial set-up with the ESC & transmitter yet either. You know, the full throttle, full reverse, then neutral thing. Still lots of control & super smooth.

Well, basically it's a R2 w/a chino dig. You need to ruin a perfectly good $100 bruiser trans for this. I don't have any other pics of it. You can see some of it in previous posts. Probably not too good though. It's very finicky if it's not set-up & adjusted right. Sometimes it would'nt lock/unlock. But now I think I got the kinks out of it. Unlike the shaft type digs that use a sliding coupler or R2D's that will only engauge/disengauge @ 180*. This will go from 4WD to Fwd to dig in just about any 5th* of rotation.

Thanks, they don't hang up at all. Way more clearance than any other axle. Besides Poulsons.

I think I've found the last bug.... try plugging the battery in

On a more serious notw, that thing looks unreal. I always admire those people who think outside the box and come up with new and different ways of building crawlers. It really proves that you dont need to buy the same as everyone else... Top work

Finally got around to fixing AFC. Since I was breaking CVD's every 5-10 minutes, I switched back to my BMVII for the first comp of the season. I've now had the time to rebuild this. I changed the motor back to a 55t lathe. Although not as powerful as the cobalt, it got the job done without breaking stuff. I also mounted up some new badlands. These are just as good as claws but so much better at sidehilling.

This past sunday was AFC's first comp. She did very well on all three courses. Coulda took the win if not for a dumb driver mistake. Had to settle for third. Also had some problems with my dig set-up. The brake mechanism would not want to release, I had to take a reverse almost every time I used it. Time for a new design.

Here's some action pics from the comp.
