Actually everything is on the lighter side. It's the wheels that weigh it down.

Is that welded? It might. I just think the power of the 5t cobalt on a 3s lipo is too much.

Got a new idea for the dig system. It'll be more like cut brakes now. 2 servos on the rear strut, Jato shafts instead of the maxx. Castle nut lock-out/slider. I have the idea all worked out in my head, just got to make it work now. Hopefully I'll still ge able to use my DX3R, if not I'll have to switch to my DX6. I'd really prefer to stay with the 3R.

I'll also be TIGing the pins inside the CVD's like Nigel did. I really like the 5t puller & want to use it.

One more question before I do this. Did you fuse it or use filler rod?

Mine have .035 mig wire for filler wire and I did one of my club member's by just fusing them. I have a 5t cobalt on order, I cant wait.

Put some work in on AFC. Seems like the cut brakes are a no go for now. The couplers I made were too long even @ 1.5". So instead I replaced the R2 with an axial trans. Got that mounted. Then I used one of the sliders for a more traditional dig. I made the slider/coupler out of a TLT knuckle & a 3/8 castle nut. I drilled both of them out almost all the way threw. Left a small lip inside both to capture the female shaft. Next I hacked some brackets out of AL to tie the knuckle & castle nut together. It looks alittle ghetto but right now I need it to work 1st, look good 2nd. The axle side male shaft has a hole drilled for a roll pin, this will lock in the castle nut. I mounted Hitech 225 servo on the rear axle & used 2 links to connect the servo horn to the knuckle. I need to find a small 6-32 allthread to insert in the 2 male shafts. I tested it with 4-40 & it seems to work fine, but wobbles. 4WD to 2WD to dig. Now I need to find a new spot for the battery.

I'll try & get pics tomorrow.

DTP,
Watch out for the metal traxxas yokes slipping off the axial transmission's outdrives. Even with locktite, I've been having problems. Looks good!
