hi guys my question is so when are they going to do the whole traxxas thing and reshell it and call it new like axial did for years im not a fan of any land rovers to be honest and dont fancy buying one to try and sell the shell and wheels

Traxxas has recently released 3 more versions of the 4-Tec 2.0, and the original Ford GT version is still quite new.

Hopefully, this bodes well for more versions of the TRX-4 coming fairly soon.

I'm quite pleased they just released a lower-cost version of the 4-Tec 2.0, no body/battery/charger - alternatively, a VXL with no body is also available.

(the new LaTrax DesertRunner might make a fun kids first RC, too)

Yes, I love the Defender body but hopefully couple new TRX-4 specific bodies that uitlize the inner fenders and same wheelbase are out soon! Looked at and touched the new 4-Tec the other day, very sweet. Comes in Ford GT and Mustang already!

LaTrax Desert Runner is basically same as SST with slightly different body and some little tweaks, love mine! Only broken one plastic cvd and we were hammering on it in the dirt lol.

In the interest of staying off-topic (lol), just picked up a 4Tec 2.0 the other day. Lots of fun to drive, great car IMO.

I dont know if anyone here watches Dirt Every Day Extra on Motor Trend but last night a video went up with Traxxas sending a TRX-4 to Fred and it had a custom Mad Maxxis Off Road Runner body on it modeled after their 1:1 project, it looked pretty sweet. It so new I cant even dig up a picture and unfortunately only subscribers get to see it for now.

It was pretty cool to see them offer up a little model of their full size build, check out the 1:1 here

If you have their Motor Trend On demand service you can see the video on the mad Traxxas, it just went up called "How an R/C Rockcrawler Works" and well... dont expect to learn anything, but have a look at the body.
I can see it ending up on youtube eventually for the sake of Traxxas as its basically an ad, but a cool one.

Would have been nice if they showed a little of the capabilities of the truck.. instead as soon as Dave 'the guy who knows how to drive these' got on the radio they ended before he drove.

WHoo I started laughing the first time he gave the throttle a blip.

97,000rpms btw if he put a fully charged 3s pack in there Theoretically anyway maybe not that high in use. But the transmission is seeing a good portion of that cool it didn't just break immediately that's good design! in his other video it goes 36mph too

First there was the TRX-1, then there was the updated TRX-3... and after a long ass time they finally made the nex.. err wait. That TRX-4 is a silly looking Buggy...

Just something I can't help chuckle at, I bought one of those TRX-1s at release oh so many years ago too
