Found time today to work on the ol rusty crusty. Aged the rear brass weights. Next, on to the electronics, and figuring out where the heck I'm going to put everything???????????? My soldering/charging station. I'm running a 7950 Hitec servo and a servo winch, so I needed a bec. I ordered one from Heyok, and what great piece of work. I didn't notice he offered a duel BEC when I ordered it, so it came as a single. I have two servos that I need to buffer so I added another set of servo plugs to the BEC, (Sorry Al, I'm on a budget and didn't want to order another one). I set the BEC at 7.4 v ( for those that were wanting to know it was one full turn per volt on the set screw) and use some E-6000 on both ends of the shrink wrap to water proof it. My battery is going on the driver side rock skid, and my plan was to put the electronics on the other one, butttttttt with BEC and how it is wired into the esc, servo, and winch, my wire lengths were all short! So came up with this. Plenty of room under the dash! Now to get everything plugged in and the wires cleaned up and tucked away. Thanks for looking. Last edited by CODYBOY; 02-05-2016 at 09:08 PM. |

After reading Natedogs idea for a rear sway bar, I desided to build one for old rusty crusty. Started with some 1/4" square SS rod. I drilled a hole in one end of the pieces of rod for a set screw to lock the torsion bar in place. Next step was to drill holes for the torsion bar and mounts for the axle. I also cut some 3/16" SS tube for spacers. I may get some more photos after dinner. Thanks for looking! I used the two rear mounting holes on the rear chasssie brace to mount the torsion bar to the frame. Last edited by CODYBOY; 02-09-2016 at 05:42 PM. |

Thanks Natedog! See if I can get the rest of the photos posted. I had to make a few adjustments to the link going between the rod and the axle. They were hitting the tires with the axle cycled. So I used some XR10 offset link ends and shortened them 1/4". The arm position at full cycle. A shot of how it is worked into the chassis. So a question, should I paint all parts black so they blend a little? Last edited by CODYBOY; 02-09-2016 at 07:38 PM. |

Thanks for the input guys. I plan on updating the covers anyway so I think it will be a flat black, or bed liner. Last edited by CODYBOY; 02-12-2016 at 10:59 AM. |

Hey codyboy, I know this is oldish thread, but can I ask what transfer case you used? The pictures aren't showing anymore . I want to put together my own forward motor setup and I'm looking at options for the transfer.

Ernie, RC4WD TRITON TRANSFER CASE (1:1) Price:$74.99 PS: A word of warning for doing a home brew forward motor mound. The one I did in this build look good, but it flexed to the point that I went through 3 spur gears. I finally bucked up and got a GCM motor forward mount. So design yours well or you will have the same problem I had. Ernie, Last edited by CODYBOY; 07-15-2016 at 05:05 PM. | |

Old thread, I know, but you mentioned relocating the rear upper links in another thread I didn't want to hijack. I see how you did it now, but did you have to change the length of the links or keep the stock length? I wish all your pictures were still here!
