| Re: 27th...what's coming? Unless they made a new version for this truck, the Race Claw tires are only 4.1 inches tall. The wheel wells are probably reasonably sized, it's the rest of the body that is too small. I'm sure they wanted to keep it on an existing Ascender wheelbase but a properly sized Suburban needs to be on a 14+ inch wheelbase chassis.

I would hope that a kit version would include some upgrades like metal trans gears and links, like Axial does with the Bomber. It doesn't get any better the more you look at it either... Last edited by 2mtech; 09-26-2018 at 09:05 AM. |

I was hoping for something better than a bad fitting body with lights. Who the hell is using these huge tires?!?!? I was hoping for a suburban that was more closely resembling the K5 body, and a 14”+ frame rail extensions/link extensions for the rear! Not more of the same old same old. Also an axle that would also allowed me to clock the axle tubes/pumpkins, cause longer links on the top just don’t cut it, since the axle link tabs are static! and when I try to clock the axle for a better driveshaft angle, then the shocks aren’t where I’d like them to be. I’d’ve also liked to see an servo on axle bracket, CMS is fine for scalers, but I’m not nuts about scale, and a servo on axle would work better turning in both directions. Blah blah blah. All I can see is one too many doors/ handles on the driver's side.

Ah, ya bunch of negative Nellys! Fer cryin' out loud they coulda killed the Ascender dead... Another version using some new parts fer cheap is great for those who ain't bought one yet. ...and those parts will be available separately for those who want to mod stuff. I want the grille to throw on my as-yet-unpainted replacement K10 body, so I won't have to hack one up to do lights. Then (as my pal Miatardo said in a text to me earlier this evenin') maybe use the new body to make a slammed on-road limo... Wheels might be dyeable, or give 'em a subtle paint wash to bring out the lug nut details and spray 'em with matte clear. As mentioned earlier, throw narrow axles under one (those new Boom Racing ones?) or get CODYBOY to whip up a set. Plastic gears and links are no big deal, swap 'em out right off the bat. (Can ya tell I like it?) Hell, use this as a template, a dragster Suburban! Call it the "S'Bourbon" and have it sponsored by Jim Beam! |

That model of suburban had 1 door on the drivers side and 2 doors on the passenger side. Fun fact the early ones had wood flooring in the back cargo area.

What does that look like next to the blazer? I'm worried that burb is more like 1:12 scale. If it actually is a true 1:10 the wheelbase should be close to 340mm? *runs off to look for that awesome hardbody burb build...* |

I understand the plastic parts to bring it in at their price point, but I am not digging that body.

Correct, no Ascender 2.0 as has now been revealed. Yes, plus a few other changes. Yes! Quote:
Correct, unfortunately must log in to BF to see the video. Yes, the parts are all interchangeable. Quote:
Correct and yes helps lower the price for those looking to get into crawling. Plastic gears are better plastic than Axial and links are reinforced with a hardened steel rod inside. Quote:

Maybe with tall 1.55's the body would look somewhat more proportional...and something a little more not white. Now it's kinda like looking at one of those impossible 3D drawings...the more you look at it the more your mind starts to hurt... |

I actually really like the body. All of my crawlers have wonky proportions. It becomes so obvious when they sit next to each other on the shelf

| Re: 27th...what's coming? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79kcXEgduiQ EDIT: I just noticed this thing is bumper-less, the front doesnt seem to be attached to the chassis and the rear definitely isn't attached Also new tires!, not sure if anyone has mentioned them yet. They look okay, not licensed but they look scale-ish maybe a BFG knock off Mud Terrains or the Flat Irons Last edited by HumboldtEF; 09-27-2018 at 02:42 PM. |
