| Torque twist solved
So I was working on building a transfer case that had a reverse turning rear drive shaft to get rid of torque twist. Then I see this from Boom Racing. GCM motor forward and this transfer case and you should be torque twist free. Oh and flip an axle or use GCM housing that has a reversed ring gear config https://www.asiatees.com/display?Boo...d=150506&pid=1 |

I did the counter rotating shafts with a GCM front motor kit way back in (checks build thread) March 2017. The torque twist eliminating benefit only works on flat ground which isn’t ideal. Once the weight shifts to either end, as happens a lot in crawling, the truck will twist in the direction of whatever end has the majority of the weight distribution. The count rotating shafts is more of a gimmick than actual torque twist solution. |

| Re: Torque twist solved Finding Nemo’s new setup Read my post #38. It’ll still torque to whichever axle has the greatest amount of traction to the ground. Flat out bottom line, the gear ratio in the axles is too high. That’s the torque twist. Put a sway bar on the rear, it’ll go everywhere the other guys go an some. The shock tuning, counter rotating transfer case, 3 link rear, etc just flat don’t work as well as the sway bar. I’m building ascenders now with scx-10ii based axles. 3.75:1 ratio instead of 1.85:1. I get what you guys are saying and I know the gear ratio is the biggest factor. I some how missed your post. I figured that the traction would have some consequence but I didn't figure it would be bad on trail truck terrain. But then I thought about it and I see with over drive it's going to lean one way even on the flat. I'm still going to try it because I already ordered it.

I am impressed by how much difference the combo of Rich’s shock mod and outboarding the rear shocks actually makes. It significantly reduced the twisting.

Can someone point me to outboarding the rear shocks and what is needed to accomplish? Noob here got Bronco for Xmas, and is first real RC car. Love this thing, but the torque twist is now at full scale after some hard runs. TIA! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Your lhs should have trx 3x32mm hex-head machine screws - for the rears. The fronts will interfere with turning radius. And you need a couple of pivot balls too, for spacers. Move the shock to the outside. Next you need a couple of shock bodies to do the 'Trujillo mod' - a mid-stroke spring stopper for the soft top springs. This combination really tones down TT. Lighter shock oil makes it worse. |

| Re: Torque twist solved Quote: Thanks! I actually just read through that whole thread. Seems a little too involved for me (for now!). Have a feeling I’ll take those out and never get them back in. I work on my full scale cars, and am mechanically inclined, but my fingers are fat, LOL. I was just going to start with the outboarding of the shocks and work my way to the Trujillo mod. Thanks for the assistance in helping out such a noob - I hate not knowing how to do stuff. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk | |

I’m sure I’ll tackle it. I should just get a parts list so i can get all the stuff to do it and then when i look at them enough I’ll just go for it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
