Rubba

Have you tried any other non plastic wheels on. Maybe 1.9 scale or does the offset of the front axle kinda mess with it?

I've mounted the old Losi 1.9 aluminium ones with no issues. They are wider going out so it gave it a bigger foot print. They are heavier so I went back to stock. The stock rims are very narrow but can't remember the size. I'll take a look tonight and measure them.

They are almost identical to the old 1.9 beadlock axials in size and offset. proline flat irons are close in size aswell but maybe an 1/8" wider and "squarer"

The stock rim is 3/4" wide and the hex is 1/8" in from the bead.

VP's poison spider JK light bracket won't work on the Twin Hammers because it's cage diameter is smaller then the SCX10 JK cage so you would not be able to drill mounting holes into the cage like the JK cage has. You would have to zip tie the light bar mount onto the cage which would look ghetto.

Agreed, the stock plastic wheels are ideal for the Twin Hammers because they are nice and light. I would worry about adding heavier aluminum beadlocks because the amount of wheel speed this rig has, your just asking to break shit IMO.

Looks good. Are you saying that the color is khaki and not white? If so, how in the hell did you find a khaki color lexan paint?

Did you just paint the outside of the body, or strip the pain on the inside? Or are the replacement clear panels?

Here at work we have just about every Krylon/Sprayon paint color. It work's on plastic with no issues so far (painted on the outside). They offer a few Khaki colors so I matched it up with what my Element look's like.

For a lighter Khaki I went with #1506 Almond (Krylon)

If you need more Yellow in the color the Beige is close #S01305 (Sprayon)

I think the Almond will be the same as your FJ Cruiser too

Awesome, I was looking for a paint I could use on the outside of my panels and not have to worry with it.

We carry all of the Krylon spray cans at our Ace Hardware, so I think I am going to use "Satin River Rock" #2423.

Thanks for the info!

EDIT: Actually, I may use the Krylon Camouflage Khaki #4291.

Yeah, I want a flat paint. How many coats did you spray? Did you do anything special to prep the outside of the panels?

After romoving the stickers I just washed it with dish soap. Did about 4-5 coats or until it looked even on all sides.

I bought some new panels, but I'll try it on the old ones first after removing the stickers.

Thanks for the info!

Anytime

Here's one more. I left the stock light decals on then peeled them off after it dried. Kept them crooked, just like stock.

Rubba

I was told during testing drivers have found it is a very bad idea to replace the
Top Plate for the front shocks with Aluminum one. Front diff issues.

Have you tested this?

Sure have, If your going for the super fast rock racer thats out of control (like me) your going to break shit when you lose control. The flex spreads out the impact. Make it ridged and you pass that impact to another area.

It's all up the the driver/pilot to decide what trail to take it down.
