TH knock off......WL K949 - $189

I post the side by side. It's a real TH next to the 1/12 desert03 Feiyue

The Feiyue is smaller. That's why I posted the side by side to show that.
It has smaller motor and non adjustable links, non oil filled shocks.

For the money it is a blast. I'm really enjoying it.

But, TH parts will not fit it directly.

You have to get creative, which to me is half the fun.

If you want mindless plug and play if parts, just get a TH. I suspect compatibility issues even with the full size copy.

Unless you've owned both, you really don't understand how much better the TH is.

The Feiyue is good for letting kids drive and preserving my TH for theriouth bidneth.

The clone of the twin has no compatibility issues. Direct copy. Not sure if thatd what you where saying, but it's all the same minus electronics

Exactly, TH clone works with TH parts and upgrades. I'm doing it right now and everything bolts up well...the thread title is TH knockoff. This isn't a thread about the Feiyue. Thanks for posting the comparison but I would say stop comparing the Feiyue to the TH.

No problem. I love mine, only issue I've run into is the pinion bearing on the clone is 1mm bigger than the real TH. Other than that every upgrade has worked well.

The radio looks like a Futaba 4pls. Has end point adjustments, but the esc and rx are all in one. I'm trying to figure out if a radiolink or fly sky receiver will work so I can upgrade electronics and use the radio as its a decent radio.

Look forward to your results re: a compatible reciever as mine blew so has been replaced with a Spektrum set up. I kept the transmitter as I liked it. Apparently FrSky MAY be compatible.

Looking great BTW. I'm looking to make panels for the GCM roof and hood. Unfortunately since it's essentially a convex 3d curve it will be a bit more of a pain to do.

Wish I knew how to do real metalwork.

I'm really sorry. I just thought the Feiyue was a TH knockoff. But, now I see that it doesn't even resemble the TH in the slightest. I'm sure it doesn't interest people looking for cheaper TH variant.

Question:

Has anyone been able to bind the WL-K949 remote to any other receivers? I'm looking to buy one but don't want to do it if I'm going to have to replace the radio system to upgrade the electronics. I plan to run this brushless as an U4 racer.

I couldn't get it to bind to a FrSky rx. I thought I read it may work with a Flysky but I don't have one to try...

Good radio systems can be had for cheap. Just replace them. Stock radio feels cheap and switches feel fragile anyways.
