TH knock off......WL K949 - $189

This reminds me of when Vaterra had those Kemora's for 90$ rtr.. they sold them like candy then one day gone!
These knockoffs are the same thing.. they produce a bunch.. sell them off then thats it..
They mentioned having hpi apache knockoffs and Wraith knock offs.. but they arent available anymore.

I can see your reasoning, but I sooooo hope you're wrong. I've seen Horizon do it many times though. The MRC Pro went from a $200 roller to a $60 bargain in a matter of days a few years back. Wish I would have caught on then and bought a few more. Is it time to start stocking up on the "must have" type items for the TH as well?

I got mine from gearbest about a week ago.

as far as I can tell, it's an OEM chassis, or an damn good clone, aside from the plastic shocks.

the 4pl looking radio works great, the steering servo is a bit slow but it fine for how fast it is...

shifting is perfect.

only issue were the shocks. the fronts only had a few drops and the rears were only filled half way. I put 60wt in the front and 10wt in the rear... very smooth now. the pistons are weird.

the k949 looks like a much better clone with the 2 spd... don't get the Feiyue

oh, another weird thing is the esc has a built-in receiver, which sucks because I REALLY like the radio. I'd like to find some receivers but have had no luck. maybe it will bind to a flysky.

I understand wanting cheaper price rc, but then people complain that the RC that they like is clearanced out cheep, then no more. Buying from Vaterra or whatever company is the original seller of the RC helps insure that it stays around for a long time, not a flash in the pan, companies have to show profit and if a product does not sell well, then it's discontinued.

...then everybody will complain that their favorite RC is not available anymore and parts are hard to find...wtf???

All those options on the screen are exactly whats on the GT3c radio. See if it binds up to that flysky RX and post up please.

I've ordered many things from Aliexpress... just like ebay, you need to check the seller's feedback, and only pay by paypal. Paypal will always protect your purchase.

Vaterra may be the original seller, but I doubt they designed and manufacture the twin hammers. If you know how MOST of the companies operate, they almost all deal with LARGE OEM designers/Manufacturers that make products, and companies like Vaterra slap their name on it.

My GF is a clothing designer for a HUGE OEM manufacturer here in Socal... Dockers, for example buys from them and just put their label on.

I guess my point is, If these online sellers can make money from this buggy, which is about $185 shipped, is it really fair to the consumer for Vaterra to charge $449 for the Twin Hammers?

Maybe if some of these companies weren't so greedy, and priced it more in line with what you're actually getting, these clones wouldn't be on the market.

I've always wanted a Twin Hammers, but NOT for $449.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a cheap bastard. I will pay the money if I think it's worth it... I have a DJI Inspire 1 and a Phantom 3 pro... both those together cost $4100
