Default What Shift Servo

OK I tore down the trans on my VTH desert truck this weekend. I removed the spacer to get the shift working, and rebuilt it with metal gears while I was in it.

So now that I have access to both gears what servo would you recomend to shift them? It is also worthwhile to mention that I also upgraded to the spectrum dx4c at the sametime.

Hey man, there are probably better, possibly cheaper options than what I'll recommend, but check out the Traxxas 2056 if a full-size servo fits. If only a micro servo fits, then a Traxxas 2065 is one to scope.

Your radio of choice (DX4C) is perfect for this situation, as you can digitally set your end points for shifting, so you won't need any type of servo saver in your shift set-up. I used a DX4C with mine, and it was a beautiful thing.

Standard size doesn't fit, and micro is too small. You need a mini servo. The one I got only needed a bit of a shave on the side next to the spur gear cover.

You've probably sorted this out by now, but...

since you're using a DX4C and can digitally set your end points, you don't have to worry about burning up the stock shift servo that would come in an RTR Twin Hammers. In fact, with the DX4C and my end points set, I ran the stock shift servo and never had a problem with it.

I'd recommend looking up the servo that comes stock in the RTR Twin Hammers, and simply run that. The stock servo + DX4C worked beautifully for me.
