going to dechrome the rims, saves buying black ones. and also going to drill out the outer rings to accept 1.5mm scale hardware, should help to make them look prettier. also gonna fit a set of bonnet scoops. |

| Re: Klampyz Creeper broke another CVD pin today. admittedly it was a worn one to begin with, but its getting old... three wheel drive quickly turned into 2.3wheel drive once the rear wheel stripped its hex as well. and it would seem i got my ESC wet coz it stopped working for a little while. so, up coming plans. thinking about ditching the Creeper axles n swapping them out for SCX axles. not sure yet. im liking the XR mod i have on there. perhaps i need to get some XR universals for it.. the other alternative is i go for AR60 axles and beef it right up. i think first, ill shift the CVDs from the rear into the front and then just fix up the fronts best i can for the rear and then see how i go. next up is the tranny/motor combo. currently running the Traxxas velineon motor on an R2 trans, but its got ZERO low speed resolution. its either go or not. super annoying. so, i traded some 2.2s for a Summit ESC/motor/trans combo. just needs a motor plate/spur/pinion and ill have a 775 Titan motor in there with two speed gearing! that will be good i reckon. and the servo is gutless. even at 15kg it stalls out way too often.. gotta work something out there that wont destroy itself but will give me enough power.. highly considering running a second 2s lipo purely for Rx/Servo duties... Thoughts? |

little bit of an update. firstly, the Summit trans is HUGE. just wont fit the way i need it to. so its not going to go in this truck. so, transmission. The R2 is out and the chassis is chopped. so next i need a new transmission. i thought about one of the SCX transeses that i have, but thought nah... its still a creeper. so i rebuilt the front of the chassis, narrowed the rails a little, changed the front barwork, and made some mounts for this to sit on. underneath> side on> and behind> (need to get a plug for the trans) and while i was welding, I thought id throw together a full width bumper that i can also mount a couple spotties to and a winch on. still needs a bit of work, but im thinking a little bit of body filler and paint, so when it smacks the rocks on its first outing it will chip, and show the "dents" as raw steel.. love that... lastly, i have an AR60 Wraith axle on its way for the front end. i plan on narrowing it and chuckin it under the front, along with (eventually) the Rc4wd D44 hubs/knuckles and Universal steering axles for strength as i keep snapping the apparently weak creeper CVDs. the offset pumpkin will be the scale factor for me more so than the axial factor. rear axle is staying creeper tho, but with modified wraith rear axle shafts. watch this space. |
