So I took the mighty "redneck rv" in today for new water pump, lube oil filter...$328.77. Ok, not TOO bad @$75/hr. The RE-MAN pump they put in ($76) was twice the price of a NEW one ($31 at Advance Auto), ok...fine. Just stick in slowly . I tell them to check the hoses while they're in there. Yeah, they're bad. $150??? Are you F'n kiddin' me? CHUCK YOU, FARLEY! They're $15 each at Advance Auto. Ok, whatever, no frikkin' way I'm payin' that. One end of one hose already had to be removed to do the pump. Markup plus unscrewing two or three more hose clamps? Yeah, riiiiight!. Then they tell me I should get a motor flush 'cuz there's water in the motor. REALLY? I was wunderin' where all that water I put in was going . Another $99 stays in my pocket! Damn, I coulda sworn I wasn't blonde with big jugs . I almost asked them how much they'd charge for a dab of Vasaline, since it was already starting to hurt! The total for this Colonoscopy woulda been over $600! I almost forgot the extra $42 charge (A/C interference). FOR REALZ? Last edited by TrailDawg362; 06-22-2010 at 08:23 PM. |

Tires Plus...only because it was close by . This is why I normally do almost all my own wrenching. I'm thinking what they mean by "Plus" is their free bend-you-over service Last edited by TrailDawg362; 06-22-2010 at 10:58 PM. |

You gonna run one of Kaspers Bergs.....Be careful those things are like crack, once you start driving you won't be able to put the controler down. |

I lost track of what you're running for a rig. Dig can sink or save you at first, until you learn how and when to use it. I'm still at the sink stage most of the time, but then again I don't practice much .

Ok, I thought thats what you had. Lots of stuff packed in there then, two pounds of shizz in a one pound bag . DNA has a good rep, you'll have to let us know how you like that unit. I'm itching to tear my crawler apart for a 2.2 TT build but the VP dig would stay, it's worked smooth as butter so far. |

the FF-4 chassis is pretty small, had to mod the dig, and the chassis to fit the tranny, motor and dig unit in, plus i got the esc and rx mounted on the links, dig servo ontop of the dig and the big ass turnigy bec of kaspers ontop of the motor. Then you figure in all the ****ing wires. Only place for the battery is ont he rear axle |

I hear ya . I put the BEC on the backside of the steering servo, and made an adaptor plate out of lexan so I could run a Hitec MG-225 mini dig servo instead of the standard size. Little things like that add up to lower your COG .

have a vxl esc listed on ebay, and some actually had to ask if it was a brushless or brushed esc. they also asked how many runs on it, hell if i know, i dont count how many times i run my rcs, and i got it used.

I try to do most of my own wrenching just for that reason, and I like to bang my knuckles then throw stuff and swear. On a good note, I found a good mechanic about 2 blocks from me that doesnt charge the usual arm, leg, and most of a foot for repairs.
