I got my frame and some sheetmetal from the cutter yesterday. He did great work! All the 3mm holes were lasercut in there as well to make my life easy The plate on the bottom left is going to be my rear bottomplate, the middle one is the front skid, and the right will be the centre bottomplate. With the Trailfinder front and rear struts This is how the rear of the body is mounted to the frame like a hinge: Will make it with these things so the body won't fall back First fit Flexxx Fixed the bumper to the chassis: And with bumper |

Thanks! Got some more stuff done today Remember the bottom left and bottom right plates? Well, i thought i'd get them cut out of 2mm Stainless, and then bend them into shape. I started with the easy one, but when i started the first bend in my small vise i realised 1mm stainless would have been much better. This 2mm is a huge pain to shape and i had to get my biggest hammer out to even slightly bend it. Anyway after some sweat and bloodshed, the bottomplate looked like this: And that was the easy one! Now for the rear one. This wasn't easy, but i must say, it came out just like i drew it in the model, and it fits like a glove. Again, it took some sweat and a big hammer, but it fits! The idea behind this rear plate is that i can just bash away with the sub and its large butt hanging over, without hurting the plastic bumper and hardbody. And some overall shots: Still plenty left to do, but that's it for this weekend. |

great work. nice idea on the rear lower plate. I like long overhangs (nice scraping sound) bit it does wear/abuse the body quite a bit.

Love the square 80's trucks. The build is awesome to say the least. The skid plate under the rear overhang is a nice touch, as mentioned. Everything down to the rear ass sag. I want a suburban body now thanks to you sir!

Thanks for the kind words people! It's not for sale (yet ) and the framerails set me back about 80 euro's. Which is about 115 dollar today. So not very cheap, that's because of all the 3mm holes in the 6mm stainless rails. Still, a lot better than spending a day drilling those tiny holes.

Lookin great. Ive been thinking about making a scale version of some of the up-armored modern 'Burbs that all the higher ups use here in Iraq. Either that or one of the armored SUV's. Love the bottom skid plates, excellent addition to your project. And lastly, i envy all of you for your cats. |

| Thank you!! Got some stuff in today. And offcourse i couldn't resist slapping the 1.55 wheels and tyres on the rig right away and do some wheeling. It actually isn't even half bad, even with the smaller tyres. I do get hung up on the axles every now and then, but still, pretty okay. Got some nice scraping noises off the rear skid as well. I'll see if i can post a movie soon. I saw RC4WD now had 1.55" Mud slinger tyres that are 105mm. Those would look SICK, but i really don't want to buy another set again... At least not right now :-) Here's some more pics with the 1.55's |

Awsome! Gonna put on some fenderflares? Or maybe some MRC axels would be better? You'll get a better "tuck-in" |

I do have some fender flares, but they're pretty big, and i'm still a little doubtful about cutting up my suburban body . I'll leave it like this for a while. Maybe i can shrink the fender flares a little, they're made out of rubber, so i might use the tyre-shrinking-method. | |
