I don't have any of those bolts, I might have to look into those.

I got my MIP shaft kit for the FJ40 today. Now, I did have some issues with the kit 278mm WB instructions and the front shaft was too long (didn't give full compression without bottoming out) which I fixed by cutting it down. Since I swapped the front and rear links to better clock my axle housings, the cut shaft was then moved to the rear.

Now with the MIP shafts, I have this same issue as before, but it can be remedied by running the shortest output (MIP #14926) on both sides of the transmission. I haven't done this yet, but I have verified it will work but putting the one short output I have on both ends and trying it.

You can see the shaft is already close to bottoming out and it does under compression. I can only get about half of the rear travel I had with the short output installed. Still flexes ok, but I'll be changing that output as soon as I can.

Shortest output shown here.

Thats good info thanks. I'm looking at getting MIPs in the near future. I run the 302 wheelbase at the moment, but might have to bring the front back to 290 to suit the Land Rover body I have. hope the standard MIP's will work with that. I will have to order from the USA, so want to get the right parts. It can be up to a 3 week wait if I don't.

I'd order the extra output just to be on the safe side! It also helps lessen the drive shaft angle a bit, which is always a plus.

I got my output from MIP yesterday, corrected the driveline issue I was having and my LED kit showed up! Just waiting on the window masks and decal sheet to show their faces so I can start in on this body.

It's one of those ones branded about 74 times, but I got it from seller villaincountryside on eB@y. It was like $11 and showed up in 4 days! Same kit I used in my JKU build.

Finally received the window masks and decal sheet, hopefully I'll get to painting this tonight! Also received a RULR set from JC Auto Design to help with the torque twist. Updates later!

Spent a good 2 1/2 hours on the body last night cutting out all the window trim and other decals. Painting the grill and mirrors today, then starting in on the LEDs. After that I need to come up with some sort of interior! Love the way the color turned out. Took me a long time to mix.

Since the grill, mirrors and front signal housings are still in the paint shop, I couldn't wait to at least go drive around in the snow.

Yes, it is soldered up. Just need to get me a servo and receiver installed! Wheels and tires are from my Bronco, still need to decide what I want to put on this rig. Thinking of going with an FJ40 body or a Scout....decisions decisions...
Just put one of these motors in my Ascender, replacing the 45T I had in there. Very smooth indeed.

Unfortunately it looks as if a pin has broken in the left front cv, and possible the rear pinion also. Still, it was running fine for a couple of hours.

I mixed up beige, white and black until I got it where I wanted it. Took a good hour or so and it came out better than I expected!

Started on the interior today, chopped up a Dinky RC set to fit and I will be making a deck for the rear area behind the body posts. Velcro'd to the doors, sits pretty nice and just barely clears the transmission. Had to heat up the rear a bit and shape it around the shock hoops so it would sit flat. Also mounted the spare, decided I'm not adding any more weight than I have to with a rear carrier setup.

Some more playing in the snow. The 4WD works great! Still waiting on the grill, lights and mirrors. Damn painter is slow.... It's getting dark and I don't have the lighting wired up yet, time to head back home! It's a little chilly out right now too with no heater.
