Grill and headlights are in, mirrors on, now I just need to figure out something for the marker lights. Might have to get some different buckets. Last edited by Ty@Tekin; 01-27-2016 at 12:23 PM. |

Ty, have ya considered using 3mm LEDs for the turn signals? You might be able to get them in to those tiny housings.

Thanks everyone! I do have 3mm orange LEDs, but these housings are solid plastic with no lenses. I'll figure something out eventually! |

Very nice build! love the FJ. I just picked up an Ascender, building a Trail Runner over it. |

| Re: Ty's FJ40 Ascender
As a cruiser-head with a couple 1:1's FJ40's in the garage, this is a build after my own heart. Love the execution and finish details. Having just purchased my first RC (Axial Wraith), my inital thought was that I have to get an FJ40 body onto my frame as soon as possible. After looking through this build, sadly it looks like I will have to start with a smaller base than the Wraith as the Tamiya body looks pretty small. Anyhow, love the thread, look forward to seeing it progress to completion. Last edited by evantwheeler; 01-08-2015 at 10:22 PM. |

You'll definitely want a smaller platform for the Tamiya body, it is pretty narrow. I'd like to narrow my track width a bit more, but it's not bad where it is currently. | |

I haven't worked on it much the last couple of months, winter weather always slows up my builds and I don't get to do any wheeling. I have got a little work done on the interior and have started making fender liners, I'll post them up soon. |

This is a great looking build. Any chance we can get some more pictures from different angles so we can see how the wheelbase worked out? Maybe a few naked chassis shots and such?

I've been driving this rig quite a bit and really focusing on driving scale. Pays off, looks cool and the body isn't getting all thrashed! Such a fun rig, the T30 crawls soooooo slow. It's cool to bump some throttle trim and just let it creep along. Last edited by Ty@Tekin; 01-27-2016 at 12:27 PM. |

Nice build I also love me some FJ-40s. I just pickup a Tamaya FJ body, and an Axial builders kit I am going to try and do another like my first SCX-10 FJ. Thanks for giving me a few new ideas. And that "scale driving " thing is a great idea, wish more people would do that instead of point and shoot. It seems to me that people today are just tiring to break their rigs.

This thing looks awesome. The wiring made me weep! Just too perfect in the minimalist way the wiring looked, really cool. I have been lurking on the 1.5 side lately cause I would like to try building one possibly. Finishing up a wraith with dmg SK in it atm though. Good luck, looks inspiring.
