Well anyway since you dont mind having a "twin" YJ I made this in tribute to you and your YJ for when mine is finished. I will sport it with pride

LMAO..!!!!!! Thats AWESOME MAN..!!!!! Yes, wear it proud..!!!

OK I got the body painted up and I am mostly done with the "EVILTWIN". I am just waiting on some rear shocks. Should arrive any day now. I really like how the flat black hard top came out and it is a nice but subtle difference from the rest of the Jeep's semi gloss black. I added the license plate and a spare tire and high lift jack too. Here are a few pics with the body painted and mounted up. Even for flat and semi gloss black the paint in person looks pretty good. My iPhone pics just dont do it justice.

That was pretty funny! And it would totally look EVIL

OK well I got my shocks from jamesbernatchez today and hooked them up.

Hi Lift shocks actually work really well on this rig and I set it up as a partial droop by cutting the inner springs a bit. It gave the Jeep a bit of a lift in the rear so I lifted the body a hair in the front so it has a sweet ride hieght. I had to shave part of the axle housing for full flex but it is pretty mint.

Also I was kinda digging the high lifts then wanted to reduce some claw dawgs (but I didnt want to copy 51willys too much) and now I may run the mud slingers because it sticks with the EVIL look.

Here are some pics. I also added some diamond plate and some stickers.

Thanks! I wasn't sure if I would like it at first but since I live on Long Island, NY most people I know that have older Jeeps have diamond plate covering rust from taking theirs on the beach and rusting it out. After about 1 minute it grew on me and I like it too. So thanks again!

I wish i had video of today's run. It was a blast. Probably the MOST fun I have had with RC's in a long time. If anyone has a video camera and wants to meet at riverhead raceway tomorrow... I cant drive and record at the same time

Thanks pal. I have seen how yours looks with the blue and LOVE it, and I was so strong on painting mine blue but from all the comments I got for black I am glad I changed my mind (not that I dont like the blue but then we would have just regular twins instead of one EVILTWIN). I am really digging the black on black and black wheels as well. The flat black hard top came out better than I thought it would. The last coat of flat I put on I just sort of sprinkled it from a far so up close it looks very textured.
Ok as for some rock rash here are some pics. The first few are just some posers before I got it dirty. The tamiya sport tuned 540 is actually a pretty fun motor to tear around with and has plenty of torque but huge wheel speed. I am sticking with the slingers because... well I love them. In one of the pics you can see I lost a screw to mount the right shock(should have thread locked) but I brought extra parts n tools so I was running in no time!
On to the pics.

glad you like em.
if you go to the nys dmv website you can order custom plates.
if they arent already in use they will show a preview.
EVILTWIN was already taken, but i just did a little photoshop to fix that!

Thanks a lot It took a few more hits with the rocks today so it is getting a bit more used looking.

I'm sorry if this comes across as "Cool truck dude!"....

But I *AM* seriously and sincerely impressed by the "look" and quality of the build - a pretty much perfect JEEP for the Rubicon Trail.

Well done! ...and thanks for sharing the build with us

That s a nice build. But like other said I dont think I could have cut on an original Jeep shell. That's why my XC has a retrofitted New Bright Jeep Wrangler.
