Ha, yeah...needless to say Im a fan of the Iron. I still keep thinkin up new stuff to do with em, Every single one of them in my "line-up" pic save for the pair thats on the black 2.2 wheels works AWESOME. Those suck, but I havnt really given em a chance and now that I have more power they may be worth lookin at again.

Man, those tires are hilarious. I love them! Great look for that truck.

To make all 4, how many 1.9 flat irons did it take? I might follow in your footsteps for a narrowed set of those for a military themed build I have in mind. I'm assuming it takes 6 tires, but if you can do it in only 5 I'd be real happy.

Any chance of getting a closeup of your seams?

Edit: Thinking about it more, it seems you'd need a set of 4 donor tires for the sidewalls PLUS 5 or 6 flat irons for the tread. I have no worn out 1.9s, so I might have to try and find some cheap.

Edit 2: I have tons of worn out 2.2s, so I can probably use the flatiron bead, glue it to a 2.2 sidewall, then glue the flatiron tread to that. Sound like a plan, or is that too many seams to be strong?

You got tons of wore out 2.2 Irons? I could use a few if so! The 4.75 and 5.0s are 2.2 treads and 1.9 sidewalls (or reduced 2.2 sidewalls when I ran out of 1.9s lol) In order to do 4.75 all you need are 4 2.2s and 4 1.9 sidewalls. The 5.0s took 5 2.2s and 4 sidewalls. If your gonna do a narrowed 2.2 height tire, just narrow the 2.2 tread, cut the sidewall off right under the sidewall tread lug and do the same on the 1.9 and glue it on. Or just send em to me and let me do it for you LOL

I appreciate it, I was lookin to make a wicked capable rig while keepin it looking like somethin that you would see at a TTC comp or out on the rocks goofin off.

Corey, I just added another build thread for my 2nd Courier. Its the Sasquatch and will be my 1.9 smaller tire rig. Its more of a weekend warrier, mildly modified style truck that is street legal and trail worthy. Check out the link in my sig!

Practice practice practice Dillpickle, Im nowhere near as good as some folks on here but I try and try and try and eventually it comes out decent enough for me lol

Thats how I made the 4.75" Irons DanielK. 2.2 tread with a 1.9 sidewall glued in. I cut the sidewalls a little taller than they needed to be and it made the tire stand up a little taller than the 4.5" they advertise. Im workin on another tire as we speak...I hope it works out as well as the 5.0s, just smaller

I appreciate it!!! Its now in the process of becoming a more comp style beater rig. I just made my own links from solid steel rod and REVO ends and I stretched it out a bit. Moved the steering back to the axle for simplicity and weight and now she flexes alot nicer. I am gonna swap it to a custom chassis Im pickin up this weekend and then Ill see how it does. The SCX10 chassis will go full time to the Sasquatch as will the frame mounted steering, panhard etc. I will grab pics this weekend of the last outting on the SCX10 frame!

Better than ever before and it ran AWESOME before...its a monster now. I dont have to use as much power to clear tough spots, it climbs just as well if not better than before, it sidehills like its on flat ground and with the new links, its still has tons of clearance despite the semi-droop setup. I love it!!! May have to consider tossin your chassis on the sasquatch in fear of messing with such a good thing...we shall see!!!
