A few of us went out this morning for a scale run so it gave me a chance to see how I liked the wheel, foam and hub change among a few other small changes I made to the shocks.

I was very happy with the way the truck felt and handled on the rocks this morning. It felt very predictable even with no weight added to my front wheels and the Rock Beasts with the intended C.I. Deuces Wild foams was a lot less bouncy then the Rock Beasts with the larger C.I. Deuces Wild foams that were in the Locked Up wheels.
I also wasn't sure how I felt about the 13" wheelbase for a C2 truck but I'm getting used to it and think I should do just fine with it this season.

The only hick-up I had to this morning was towards the end of the day when my pan hard mount on the axle side broke loose from the axle housing taking the top of the case with it. It is a custom unit made by R2j and only mounts using the two holes in the case so I'll be swapping in a spare Hand Bros mount I have here so it doesn't happen again.

Comp #2 tomorrow morning in Casa Grande. This will be the first time we've held a scale comp at this local and my first time back since we did the first Copper State Crawloff there a few years ago.

I replaced the axle case, pan hard mount and did a little more tuning to the truck so we'll see how it does in the morning.

EDIT: The truck worked great today at the comp, I ended up finishing in second. I'm still fighting the 13" wheelbase a little but I'm starting to get used to it. I may switch to Growlers for the extra height to help with the wheelbase but that will be down the road a bit.

Today was my day off so I was able to spend the afternoon out in the garage working on the f100. I have really been struggling with the 13" wheelbase so I decided a few weeks ago that at some point I would cut the bed off and make it into a truggy.
I don't have the new links yet but figure I could get started on the tube work.

First thing was to cut the bed off...

After I got the bed cut off I bent up the main cab hoop...

Once that was brazed into place the rest just fell together. I didn't have a plan I just added tube as I went until I was satisfied.

And this is the final product. Nothing fancy.

I wasn't diggin the rear tube work, it looked like it was missing something so I added a storage area and tow hook then tide it into the rear bumper. I'm liking it a lot more now.

Paint is done! Still a little tacky but I was able to mount the body.

Hope it doesn't show but I put the cage together all by eye, no tape measure and no drawing before hand just added tube as I went until I was satisfied. Took about 5.5 hours start to finish, .5 hour to sand and then 20 min to paint.

LOL, I was on a mission. My mtn bike was stolen out of my garage while I was home the night before so I needed this to get my mind off of it.

I received my new TCS links TCS Crawlers SCX10 4 Link Kit Aluminum SCX10LK-01 yesterday so I got right to installing them (Rears only) first thing this morning. They put the wheelbase right at 12.3" but I wanted to be closer to 12.5" so I added Jato rod ends up top at the chassis end and shortened (cut 1/8") Jato rod ends at the skid on the lowers which put me right at 12.5".
BEFORE: 13" wheelbase

AFTER: 12.5" wheelbase

I also made myself a new winch anchor while I was at it and painted it to match the chassis. Best anchors I've used!

My buddy Big Daddy/Kevin made me a set of his not so fuzzy skull dice to hang from the rear view mirror.

I dig the new look Buzz. The Double hook works great. I built a treble hook once but it was not so user friendly.
