Re: Competition Style Tundra by Southern Builds Fab Just got back from training. Some update pics from today. Fender bar attaches to the chassis right behind the front bumper. Light bar tucked in warm & cozy. Angled downwards for more rock & ground coverage, wandering what that'll turn out like That's it for now. More work to come in the next few days Last edited by MIKO; 12-20-2014 at 10:29 PM.

Re: Competition Style Tundra by Southern Builds Fab This build had to have RC4WD scale heim joints. Sometimes to make a man cry all you gotta do is show him some scale heim joints and how bad ass they would look exposed ...without a skid to mount them to or anything that would make your life easier. This is the result. While sobbing this man churned out some U-brackets that are welded on to a triangulated bar There are 3 in the front and 4 in the back Or at least that's what she said These units can't be used with nearly as much side angle as the Revo rod ends, therefore for the top rear links we angled the mounts inward You can see the stagger of the links with the triangulated mounts welded to the frame On the agenda for tomorrow is a Panhard mount for the K44s and shock hoops to finish the front If time allows maybe even finished top secret links which are not titanium, stainless steel, or aluminum

| Re: Competition Style Tundra by Southern Builds Fab Keep on cooking cause we're not stopping anytime soon Thanks! It's all my skill of holding things here and there that allowed Don to make this build possible... Gracias senior! Thanks! Yes. Yes she will. It will double as a jack stand, or melee weapon. I'll post what she tipped on the scales before powdercoat Quote:

Re: Competition Style Tundra by Southern Builds Fab Big update today! Most of the chassis work is complete. Here are the front shock hoops Back of the cage with a swing-out tire carrier Boom. The spare tire carrier will lift off, the tire comes out and the back of the cab will be held in place by tire pressure. Right behind that will be an enclosure for the battery effectively eliminating the need to remove the body for battery changes Need to make connecting bars to mount the shocks to. We have something in mind but let's hear it from you guys! Tell or show us what kind of bar design to mount 100mm king shocks in the rear of the cage would look best

Re: Competition Style Tundra by Southern Builds Fab HOME STRETCH!!! Windows? Pffft. Cut the cross mounting plate out for easier motor install and welded a windshield cross bar in. All that's left on the rear is shock mounting. The large square is for mounting a number plate. Using a full size spare really dictated a lot on the rear cage design. Here's the ass with the fuel cell mounted underneath the spare. Chillin out back. Here she is

Re: Competition Style Tundra by Southern Builds Fab Thanks! I'm pretty good at bolting and unbolting things on toy trucks Yeah me too, the idea came out of the rock bouncers that he makes. They look perfect on vehicles that look like they get trailored to and from race events. Just need to stick on some gauges
