'66 Ford F100 Wroncho Build

Thanks Dextroyer. This combo kinda happened by accident. I had a Wroncho build in mind, was considering a styrene build for the body, but weight was a concern. So I was at my LHS, looking at the "clear" choices, and saw this '66 F100. I went to the counter, pulled out a new Wraith, and It fit almost perfectly. The "barn find" look was something I wasn't sure how to or if it would work. Turned Ok for my first weathering job.

Thanks! I found that i needed some more dampening, the stock set of Honcho shocks I installed didn't cut it. So I added Proline Powerstroke shocks to the front, used 40w Losi oil and saw an improvement in how the truck reacted coming up to an obstacle and getting over it. Also added a 1/4" of additional ground clearance (sits 3" from skid to ground) as while I didn't want it to sit a mile high, it wasn't clearing a few rocks and stumps cleanly. After the shock swap and ride height change it was totally different - very pleased with the outcome.

When I built my Dodge, I used T-Maxx shocks with 30wt, but I was running 2.2's. I had a 4" ground clearance until I flipped the shock mounts. I ended up with a 3.5" clearance, & oddly a lower cog, but I had to clock my axles more to the trans outputs. That setup now is under my 1/6 Jeep. I miss my Wroncho, gotta build another!
