Default XJmachine's monster scale xj

hello all, i decided to add another xj to my xj collection lol. The one i am modeling after belongs to a local off roader, and it is sweet!! pix do not do this one justice. stay tuned!

He converted the the front suspension to leaf springs, which is super awesome!

I have 2 destroyed t-rex 60 axles, so i used parts from both to build one. I am going to have to swipe an axle from another project lol

in this picture you can see the revolver shackles, so i scored a set for the trailfnder chassis

next are those deep dish style wheels, i went with locked up rc wheels and wheel spacers to get the depth that i need

these are normally made to use one per wheel, but i decided to double up on each wheel to get a really deep look

I even got the same beadlock rings the 1:1! i swear these tires are made for this style! i freaking love this company for offering a product like this! can you say DEEPdish?

had an issue that i didnt think i was going to have to deal with, Wheel base! to close together for me

so i had an old rc bros scx10 leafspring conversion kit laying around, so i used some of the leaf hangers instead of the trail stomper ones to move the rear axle back
the one on the left

brought the rear hangers back as well and used one shackle, just like a real xj

came out real clean

stretched to about 13 inches

cant forget the chrome grill and light buckets ...

i decided to make that roof rack next. i went to the store and bought some 1/4 rod, bent it, drilled it, and painted it.

stole an axle from another rig lol

looks like i need 2 more lights, and some tow straps on the top

interior! from a newbright jk, close enough. painted it up !!

i had to cut out part of the back to fit some wheel wells in the rear, and had to make the mysterious hole in the back of the xj lol very rough but its coming along, and the floor will be getting black carpet,

done ish

heres a side view with the inner wells

Now for the leaf spring hanger/bumper thing(since the spring hangers are on the chassis this will just be a lil bumper on the scale version)
used some flat brass and made a piece of square tube, and some brackets to tie into the servo mount

looks better than i thought

comparison (still debating if i should do that hood scoop thing)

well here she is about 90% complete. still need front shaft, electronic, and minor body details. will post some running pix when i get the stuff!

had sneak away from this for a bit to do some driveway crawling. love how scale this one looks when its climbing. (needs an interior asap)

anyway, hope you all enjoy

Very nice XJ's! Nice builds.

I had to do a double take on the XJ in the background. I thought you had acquired my old build lol.

Very cool. It was modeled after the 1:1 Rusty's rig.

And I pulled some inspiration of your jeepspeed for my jeepspeed. No lie.

Nope, Don't think I'll be able to sell this one anytime soon. It's bulletproof, looks good and keeps on keepin' on.
