Wish I had a set to mess with. Will need to buy some stock shocks and shafts.

Yeah think I'll just go for the 70mm kings because I would prefer that look and if they don't work out bolted to the frame I should be able to make cantilever out of them and vaterra rocker arms.

Fr8cture this build is really coming together nicely! I just read the whole thread and I'm very impressed. Can't wait to see it running and crawling on the rocks.

One question, what mods did it take to run the wraith c hubs and knuckles on the SSD axle?

Cheers

Just cut down the holes for the scx style. Chub and clamped them on.

Great build thread fr8cture! It's nice to see you using new products in your builds. Especially sense it's great advertising for those products! I like the way Zuki's setup balances the chassis out. As for the body, WOW! I'm not at all a green guy. But I really like the contrast between the green and black. And you tied it all together very well with the wheels. Great looking bumper! And I completely agree that the mini winch looks better, scale wise. I used it on Full Metal for the same reason. As for the hardware on the fenders, are they button head screws? It's hard to tell in the pictures. I've seen the fenders in real life. All of the bolts are button heads. I just used scale bolts on mine but if button head screws were available, I'd consider changing them out!

It's been awhile but I've been messing with this some more...

Storm here's the beef for you.
Glad this came out saved me from having a servo winch taking up room. Perfect spot to put electronics now.

Also tried mounted up a light bar but I stripped the holes on the housing. working on getting a new housing.

I started wiring up body lights. No pics but seems to be going good. I'll probably do some styrene inner fenders next weekend.

Cool! I was wondering what the actual size of that winch was. It looks great!

And I just noticed the light bar!

What do you do when the intermediate shaft between the tcase and motor mount hits the interior? Cut out the floor and make a new one of course. It was easier than expected even with my limited experience. Probably took an hour but now I can run any shaft I want.

Sorry for picture quality hard to get a good one with the body on...

Your the man fr8cture, thats one sweet build! Drool/Envy

But I'm thinking your gonna need a different truck to become a active MNRCRC member as that truck is way to nice to sacrifice to the Comp Gods and angry rock. If you come out to a Comp we can trail ride a little and your more than welcome to test drive any or all of my rigs in a Comp situation. We'd love to have you out and I want to see this rig first hand.

Another update... I've been working quite a bit on the JK8 this week...

First up! I grabbed a Holmes Hobbies puller pro 540S 2200kv.

I finally ordered a toyzuki skid got it all figured out and used the adapter for the stock skid as a battery tray on the new skid like it was design for on the stock skid. Cut the adapter part off. Drilled and tapped holes. I really like the skid.

Then I made a quick electronics tray. I could have made it look a little better but I rushed it. I think it looks fine as is though.

I also ordered a Castle Mamba Micro X and used a bec I already had. Wired and mounted it all with a SR410 Rx, Protek 150T servo, and Holmes rx bypass for the bec. I also just got a vanquish motor mount/gear guard today and it works pretty well to keep the wires out of the gears.

I also installed MIPs all around and here it is a runner. The T-Case has wobble not sure what that's about. Have to ask Ben about that.

Here it as it sits. I have a friend working on a rear bumper for this. Right now all loaded with body it's around 7lbs not bad considering the weight of the body from all the styrene added.

That's it for now.

Okay one more update. This yeti slipper kept staring at me. I filed the flats farther down the shaft, drilled the hole for a through pin, cut the shaft. Assembled it and couldn't figure out why it was locking up... Then I realized it was the silver piece on the back of the slipper. So I went and cut it down until it wasn't putting pressure on the bearings. Works great.
