What kind of diff are you using? Also where did you find your pulleys for the rear drive wheel? Thanks CRC Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk Last edited by THX_138; 03-27-2017 at 08:45 PM. |

It is a revo diff. They are nice and compact. Also met the gearing requirements. As long as i did my math correctly it should have a slight overdrive in the front. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So I am officially off of pause because I was tires of waiting on other people and decided to just do it myself. I spent the evening turning down 1/4 rod to 6mm with my drill press. Then drilled a through hole in the bearing seat of the ring gear. The rubber bands were to see how it worked. And it lives. I must say this is different...a clever idea also cause u should never have to worry about hitting a gate with the rear wheel

Since the mechanical side of this build is coming along/nearly done. I felt it was time to begin the body. It is really hard to find detailed pictures of this truck. Here is what I was able to find. I took the pictures and began to draw out the base of the cab onto cardstock. Soon I had the majority of the cab. I transferred that pattern over to the wood that I will be using. I like wood as opposed to styrene for two reasons. 1 because not many people use it. Making it different. 2 it has held up incredibly well for me in the past. Styrene tends to break. This truck will be a competition truck. It will roll. It will also drag the rear bed corners on just about everything. So durability is key. Anyway... I transferred over the patter and cut out both sides of the cab and matched them up the best I could. After cleaning everything up I made another Template for the rear of the cab. I cut that as well. I glued on supports for my glue connections in the corners and hooked them together. Not too bad for one evening. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

A few more progress shots. These shots show what it looks like when I am starting with the tough shape. Then with a little sanding and shaping everything tends to make a little more sense. I am not sure if others use this method or not, but I like to build it rough and sand to shape. That way I get what I want in the end and I don't have to stress over every little cut during the building process. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

More progress. I was able to make fenders out of 4in pvc connectors. Next I sanded everything in as close as possible without adding any putty. I think it is time to start on the bed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Spent a. If chunk of the weekend so far working on the bed. Started with the bed floor. Next I put on the bed side for the drivers side. Then I filled in the rest. I even included the side load tailgate. It will open and close as soon as I put some more thought into how to make that happen. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I would have never thought of using wood on trucks what a great idea. Built many aircraft and boats over the years mainly from wood. Genius man. And doing a Trivan what a build. Awesome job. Crash |

| Re: Bet you haven't seen this! 3wd c1 Thanks man. I am attempting to end up as scale as possible. Obviously I took liberties on sizing and spacing to accommodate the difficulty of making a 3wd rig, but it should end up fairly close. Quote:

Thanks man. I have seen many of your builds as well. I have had it running, but I need to build a tensioner system next. I have been waiting patiently on my 4.19 KLR's to come for this bad boy so that I don't have to glue and re glue. If I build the tensioner It will motivate me to actually drive it more and I am not ready for that. All in due time. For now more body work awaits. My goal is to have this truck done and up and running for my next local comp on the 7t of may.
